That's little misleading. It gets consumed properly so that ain't the issue here.
I also tested this with Arcane Missiles. From point-blank range it reflected two ticks and three from max range.

That means the fix should be live. Yesterday it was bugged, but we patched it. Apparantly it should be able to absorb more than one tick of arcane missiles, depending on range.
It should basically absorb every spell in the air when it is put up (same with grounding totem).

I just realized that high haste rating might have caused Mayores glitch. The faster missiles are being fired, the more missiles will be in air simultaneously.
