Re: Selling account with 9 donors
I've never actually decided on an official account trading policy, but I'm sure it would be something like Blizzard's.
The reason such companies do not allow users to sell their accounts is because you are selling that company's intellectual property, which, in this case - you are selling my intellectual property. Whether you've played the account and earned titles, is irrelevant because I, or Blizzard for this matter could simply load up accounts with fully-geared characters with titles and sell them. But, of course, we don't.
So I'm not really sure what to reply here with, since I've never really decided if I would condone this behavior since I've never seen people trying to market out their account on a private server.
What I would say to you, Paws for this would be to think this all through. I've seen over the course of almost two years players come and go due to drama. I think in your case this is in relation to the ending arena season which is always usually followed but such typical behavior. Unfortunately when you spoke with me yesterday about getting an arena team going again I felt it was too late anyway, since I had already decided the date to end the arena season, which was whenever I got updates 4.3 out which launched that night.
It's unfortunate to here you were unable to compete as you would have liked to which lead to many heated-debates about the matter. However, I would suggest competing again -- Season 8 has begun and it will be a lot shorter now since we no longer have to worry about population, lag, etc. So the question really is, why give it all up? I can tell without actually checking Smolderforge right now that you've dedicated several weeks, maybe even a month of your life to playing on Smolderforge and you would give it away for a few dollars?
Eventually the nostalgia will take it's turn, which it always does, and you'll want to come back. I've seen it time and time again -- almost everybody comes back once in a while. Which, by that time you'll have lost everything you earned and won't be able to retrieve it again like you could on retail from buying an account.
I would just say to stop. Think it through, take a break and come back later. There is no need to go through with this, and I personally do not want to see it done.
Regards,
Henry.
