A long LONG LONG time ago i played on smolderforge but man ive come back now after i had joined the national guard and im chilling party doing dumb childish things but man not a day goes by that i wished to play again and now im here 6 years later wotlk is sadly still down :( my heart is still broken from that i have yet to recover Henhouse but my question is this are the tbc servers also dead? and how populated are they in comparsion to other tbc servers i rly dont wanna see this server ever go down i've been looking at the honor rankings and man do they bring back some memories seeing those names filled me with joy im proud of every single one of you /salute however i keep logging on at like 2AM in the morning and there is barely anyone online barely it seems like its beyond dead to me i cant log on any earlier cuz of work related issues but man i hope someone wont reply to this crushing my heart <3 i rly missed and loved you all.

logging on at the wrong time. It is pretty dead as at peak hours there are around 40-60 ppl online.

Smolderforge is sadly pretty dead. It could salvage something, but only through drastic measures.

i mean idk where is henhouse is he playing on warmane or wtf... Man needs to srsly change smodlerforge im actually srs he needs to change up everything we've been in the same starting zone since forever and the shit is pretty dead imo cuz there is nothing to do even when u get all the gear and everything its a shame man i rly from the bottom of my heart which to see this server live man i rly do plz henhouse do something!!!!

I am still here, of course. I may just not have as much time and devotion as I once did. Making SF Great Again is certainly not as easy of a task as it sounds. Changing the player mall won't make people come back in droves, nor did giving everyone who played a free S4 character for our 10th anniversary like we had hoped. It's a really difficult problem that is not so easily solved. Arguably, many would say they'd like to see the state of PvP improve way before things changed/features were added, but with the lack of developers on the team now, and my less time, there is just no easily feasible way I can accomplish that with all the other things that need my attention, too. Largely, I think the market space for instant-XX servers is just not as popular these days. Most people are seeking a nostalgic, leveling experience. SF was made 10 years ago as a fun way to play at end-game without having to spend months leveling/gearing on retail. It doesn't really fit its original purpose so much anymore.


As for a hard reset, I can't imagine that would help things. I can't in my right mind wipe 10 years of history and accomplishments. Doing it with specific gear pieces is hard enough. When we removed SWP in 2014 we continued to receive tickets asking where their stuff went until 2017... I only just recently stopped seeing people asking. God forbid we wipe 300k characters.


So most of it just boils down to lack of time and lack of help that I both used to have years ago. There's a lot of things we still want to do and change, and maybe we'll get there sometime, we'll see.

I understand a hard reset is hard for sentimental reasons, but then you should at least consider the possibility of adding another server, because what good is having a ghost town that has memories instead of a server with actual life on it?

Dwelling on the past and refusing to adapt has been the biggest undoing of Smolderforge. I hope you understand this.
