New to the server, do queues ever pop?

I'm super hyped to try out a TBC server. I tried logging on around 11 EST, and I couldn't get in to anything. BG, rated arena, skirms....is that because of the time of day? Or is it normally kinda dead? Something to note, I tried both alliance and horde to see if the queues changed.

queues usually varies between instant and 45 minutes depending on activity and how many hordes/alliance are in que. but if you log in while the server is fairly active and theres about as many horde and alliance playing battlegrounds then maybe 5-15min que is normal. usually the activity is higher on friday to sundays and when its around the evening/night time for europeans

Try between 4am and 5pm your time. Population dwindles soon after into the single digits.
