Rain Effect
Rain Effect
I wonder if the Weather effect is turned off like the dissappearing Skeletons were.
I'm not sure if I ever saw rain in Arathi Basin or the open World before on Smolderforge.
It's just a minor detail but I feel it would improve the atmosphere while playing Battlegrounds or traveling thru the World of Warcraft alot when you have actually changing Weather effects and not just have Sunshine all the time.

Re: Rain Effect
I don't believe weather has ever been a thing in battlegrounds in WoW. Indeed, it is disabled on Smolderforge and always has been. It's never been right on private servers... most zones rain far too frequently than they did on retail, and it always annoyed me. Additionally, sand storms in Tanaris weren't exactly ideal... But I may can disable those.

Re: Rain Effect
I recall it used to rain in Arathi Basin ( 2.4.3. Retail ) but it's been Ages since then. I see the sand storms are counterproductive because of the Player Mall but like you said it could stay off. However I would like to see the rain going to be enabled for the rest of the World of Warcraft for atmospheric reasons. My next question is does it affect the Server in any negative way ? Lag for example I'm not sure how These things work but you know for sure :DHenhouse wrote:I don't believe weather has ever been a thing in battlegrounds in WoW. On a Sidenote, is it possible to enable Flying for the old World ( like in the Player Mall)? If yes, would you consider to add it ? If no, what's against it ?

Re: Rain Effect
People can use the scroll of the mall flying item to fly in the mall.Rule wrote:On a Sidenote, is it possible to enable Flying for the old World ( like in the Player Mall)?
Re: Rain Effect
So you suggest to modify the Scroll of Mall flying to a Scroll of Old World flying. I like it Owlcovsky !Bucovsky wrote:People can use the scroll of the mall flying item to fly in the mall.Rule wrote:On a Sidenote, is it possible to enable Flying for the old World ( like in the Player Mall)?
Re: Rain Effect
That would be amazing but i doubt it will be implemented :( There are so many awesome places to see in the old world...Rule wrote:On a Sidenote, is it possible to enable Flying for the old World ( like in the Player Mall)? If yes, would you consider to add it ? If no, what's against it ?
Re: Rain Effect
Sadly this is what usually happens when you try to fly in the pre-cataclysm old world. :(

Re: Rain Effect
I actually like the idea to be allowed to fly anywhere else. +1Paniz wrote:That would be amazing but i doubt it will be implemented :( There are so many awesome places to see in the old world...Rule wrote:On a Sidenote, is it possible to enable Flying for the old World ( like in the Player Mall)? Re: Rain Effect
Yeah-yeah, that's the exact reason why i doubt this feature will be implemented. But that doesn't ruins anything for me, i would still love to fly over the old world to see different intresting places, for example AQ, behind the portals, areas to the east from Wetlands etc. :)Grael wrote:Sadly this is what usually happens when you try to fly in the pre-cataclysm old world. :(
Re: Rain Effect
Exactly this was the idea behind it to explore some of the unreacheable parts of the old world.Paniz wrote:Yeah-yeah, that's the exact reason why i doubt this feature will be implemented.
