yes, exactly,

Code: Select all

/equip libram of mending
/cast Holy Light (Rank5)
doesn't works on retail. but it was bugged on every single private server. everyone got used to it so much that forgot that it was impossible on retail. what was possible is

Code: Select all

/cast "some instant spell"
/equip "some new item"
i can give you thousands of links and every link will tell you that only this way it works.

well, this kind of macro works, but i mean you have to wait for GCD after equiping item and only then you can cast your spell. so this macro is not useless, you can use that macro during gcd of some other ability and it will equip your relic during that gcd.

Actually, i just found this part. So, it doesn't works now on Smolderforge? Coz if it doesn't - it's obviously should be changed, 1% "miss" for spells was part of tbc and it should be here too. From my POV everything about mechanics should be 100% blizzlike except rare cases of obvious bugs that was on retail, like for example Elemental Precision talent affecting Frostbolt spell twice or that bug with Cheat Death 99% reduction. The rest should be 100% blizzlike, yes.

a) Relic swapping can be used in combat, but triggers a GCD. This means you can swap a relic simultaneously with a cast although obviously, if you elect to fakecast, you are still hit with a GCD which is the drawback to this mechanic. This was the case up until 2.4.3. Read the link.
I think that is how it's suppose to work. It was like that on AT, but it was inefficient for druids to swap idols, although you could do it if you coordinated it with your spell and you wouldn't get a gcd because of swap. You basically did it to swap between the bloom idol and the moonfire one. Same thing happened with paladins, you usually did it between flash one and holy light one.

Nevertheless, with this impliment you'd let rogues swap weapons at the same time of a gcd, which means that you can swap weapons and use shiv or any other spell.

I believe this won't change much from what we have now, but we'd eventually see some different setups in arenas.

@mirok this change affects not only paladins but alot of other hibrid classes. for example balance druids (and restorkins like variety of one). they will switch weapons in every single wrath or starfire cast and switch back after lbloom cast for example.

but the main reason why it should not be change is this: https://www.smolderforge.com/site/pvp/arena. paladins are already represented on top rates. even rank1 team atm contains paladin. quantity doesn't means quality. quantity means popularity. it's not the problem of balance that paladins are not popular, it's because paladins are boring class (from the POV of the player who doesn't have paladin as a main) compared to other classes. if there were no paladins at all on high rates - you could've use it somehow as an argument that paladins are underpowered compared to other classes. but ladder clearly proves that paladins are able to get to top rates and they doesn't require any buff for that. in fact, all classes in 2.4.3 doesn't need any buffs.

Well, we are talking about Drcain (one of the best paladins tbc wide). Of course he'll be able to be in top.

Actually, what I would do to make paladins popular again is to allow them to use 4/8 t6 parts (offparts + 1 main part). I have been talking with many people who play paladin and they all agree at the same point, which is "healing paladins requires 4/8 t6". This feature was also implemented on AT/NG because paladins really need those 4 parts of t6 to have some reg mana + bonus set to equal them to other classes who have swp staff (aka druids and priests). (anyway, this is not the topic we are debating)

However, if the server really wants to focus in pvp, they should definitely remove t6 feet for everyone (except for healing paladins), remove thoridals, remove swp weapons, etc, but i understand this can't be implemented since it'd affect to those people who have been supporting the server with donations to get swp weapons and other stuffs.

That's why, I think making idols / librams swapable won't make any difference, although I'd happy if it's changed as it was before.

Itd be nice to see it make a return, since it was only fixed in retail in preparation for wrath. Since we're not ever going to be a wrath server, i cant see why a change aimed at a later expansion, should be in place. Easy fix too, did i hear one line? Do ittt. <3

It might make arena more viable for classes that are not druids or warlocks, like shamans and paladins. Which could be a benefit in itself. Especially since paladins cannot have 4 piece t6 and 4 piece pvp.
