Hello there, everyone how are u guys doing today. I was sitting here thinking about the difficulty over world of warcraft..
Everyone says that world of warcraft vanilla was harder then then wod, I played on a vanilla private server for about 2 years, and i got some sweet gear, some tier 2.5 and some other sweet gear, but i was not close to getting fully geared and then i played some wod and i think i got Mythic gear, in about 5 months, and maybe I'm bad not sure, but was there anyone that every got fully geared from vanilla ever? like the best gear? I think i read a thread about the hardest pve boss in wod and it took like 500 wipes i think which is like crazy fast, and for people to actually clear c'thun it took maybe 3-4k maybe even more. So was world of warcraft harder or was it just slower?
Hard or slow?
Re: Hard or slow?
Well with the new game mechanics they can make bosses a lot harder now.
The thing why vanilla was hard was because you had to coordinate 40 people in the raid. And you needed lots of healers for the main tank alone. That's why you saw all the raidleaders of important guilds behave like the manager at a mcdonalds like in that funny onyxia whipe video. Naxxramas 40 man was the hardest raid I ever did but I stopped playing when wotlk was released so I can't compare it to the new stuff. But to give you a hint how hard it was, even after the nerfs people would whipe, and even in tbc at lvl 70 they would whipe. You needed the whole raid to be geared and serious and be aware of every single tactic.
As for gear - it took a lot more time to gear up in vanilla, but that's obvious since you have a lot more players raiding with you compared to a 25 or 10 man raid. My rogue was full tier 2 and it was insane to do open Pvp with it because the gear was kind of overpowered against weaker sets.
The most fun in classic was doing a premade warsong with your hardcore-nerd guild vs another hardcore nerd guild for example my guild and me played against the best german guild in warsong (Affenjungs INC) which was just insane and can't be compared to anything at all.
Pvp was kinda unbalanced for example the PvP trink only worked for certain CCs and so on.
So gearing was harder - naxxramas was insane and many servers had no guilds that cleared naxx - 40 man raids are something completely different just listen to some teamspeak convos during classic raids - but new mechanics could require a lot more complex tactics
that's just my experience.
