I don't even know why we are surprised of this behavior. I mean, this has been happening along smolderforge times.

Before, it was Kev and those russian people who used to play 3-4 years ago, then it continued with moskito, and now this bad behavior is between ''top'' players.

I am not going to excuse what they have done because I don't share those ways to act. I mean i can understand when someone gets mad when they lose (i do many times), but I cannot understand this way to humiliate the people.

Why didn't this behavior happen before? I think tbc has been losing community for the last few years and this has triggered small and old communities who problably their only aim is to argue about this game. For example, when you play arenas (i say arenas because this problem is centralized here) is very common to face the same players over and over, and those players are the ones who are looking forward to getting a miserable title. And yes, now it's very fashionable to have 100000000000000-0 score in the team so that you can show off that you're best of the players in da world, so you might get frustrated when you lose. I'm not going to say that I don't play for titles because i would have been lying but I think i'm not acting like this anytime, so it's very unpleasant when you have to stand this behaviors from people who qualify you of ''my rival''. Anyway, I don't think GMs are doing as much as they can to deal with this problem and if we want to solve it, we gotta work on it

What to do to solve this problem? I think it's a good idea what HG does: not to enable /s in arenas and to make /DND like WOTLK (you cannot get any message).

However, this is not an issue which is just centralized in those two players (otherwise it would be so easy to control it), this is something that involves all of us and that we should neither provoke this behavior, nor act like this.

I think a Wrath-styled DND would be nice. As for arena, what about /y and /w? Those would have to be turned off too. Plus, there's no stopping them once they get out of arena.

I have expirienced such behaviour on like every arena server i've played on. It's people like ptaq or sprintex who literally have nothing in life than being decent in this 8 years old xpac. They have to rub it into everyones face how godlike they are because that's the only thing they might ever get recognition for (when in reality no one gives a shit). The sadest part is that they even shit talk when they win, probably because they dont get enough attention otherwise. I feel bad for the new players trying to play arenas and getting shouted at being bad etc. No wonder arenas are pretty much dead when such elitist jerks try being as toxic as possible. Muting seems like an appropriate measurement as long as you cant get around it. /Ignore cant be the solution imo, new players will be discouraged anyways and people being toxic all the time shouldnt get away with that.

Or the owner can add an auto mute system like other servers have. It simplifies the process and the gms will have more time to stalk ppl and do nothing.

And how exactly do you imagine that working? You say a bad word and get automatically muted? I don't understand what you mean by "add an auto mute system".

Ask the vastly more successful servers, they are using it and it's brilliant.

And how the fuck would you actually apply it? It automatically mutes someone when they say a specific word?

What if I quote someone? Copy what they said and paste it to my friend?

What words would you add to the limiter?

What about the millions of ways you can bypass these word filters?

Another retarded idea spouted by Hartun, no big surprise.
