Hen did a good job so far, it's normal to motivate him to continue this way instead of constantly blaming him.mirok wrote:Akeno wrote:Take your time Hen, love what you do and good luck with all of your university stuff.

Re: % Health: The most retarded thing
Nobody here is saying Henhouse has made a fault, especially since I'm pretty sure he didn't make this change. % health or numbers, not a big deal, just an annoyance. I will play the game either way but I can tell everybody except Lelol with his shitty Proximo wants the numbers, not the %. This thread and no thread at all should be one aimed to attack Henhouse for his decisions on the server, this is just feedback on changes.

Re: % Health: The most retarded thing
I use Proximo because it's better than Gladdy, it has a DR tracker which gladdy does not(does but it's broken). Other than that it's more customizable and can display enemy race icons too.Vicarious wrote:Nobody here is saying Henhouse has made a fault, especially since I'm pretty sure he didn't make this change. % health or numbers, not a big deal, just an annoyance. Reverting a great change like this would just be silly, if you look at serious projects such as Corecraft & Nostalrius, you can see that they both have this implemented and just because this is more of a pvp/funserver doesn't mean it shouldn't at least strive for the authentic pvp experience.
If you watch a TBC video you will instantly know if it's "just another shitty private server" by looking at the enemy health bars.
Also it really seems like you are few but very loud who dislike this change. Why do you dislike it? Just because you're used to something else and have trouble adapting to the real thing?

Re: % Health: The most retarded thing
Shacka did some great modified addons, try to use them instead of Proximo or Gladdy.
NB or CC are supposed to be fully blizzlike, SF is supposed to be blizzlike as well for class related things, however we can access to utility things such as the real HP of our target. It was always working this way, there is no need to switch it now.

Re: % Health: The most retarded thing
You don't have to fix what isn't broken, and the only reason this is broken to your perception is because one addon doesn't work. You want perfectly blizzlike then you might as well play without addons as well bud, then you're playing it exactly how they designed it.

Re: % Health: The most retarded thing
This makes PvP more blizzlike like Lelol said. Good fix. And no, I'm not using Proximo.

Re: % Health: The most retarded thing
Blizz-like is preferrable but as proven so many times before, not optimal for most players. But hey since we're gojng for as Blizzard as possible bring SWP back, Blizz made all that gear, it's blizz-like to have it available. Additionally remove all donation options, these didn't exist for blizzard, and remove solo queue and dueling area and all teleporters and player mall.

Re: % Health: The most retarded thing
A nice change to complement this would be to remove the transmogrification system. It's neither blizz-like, nor does it complement the percentual hp display.
Jokes aside, I really don't see the reasoning behind this change. I'm not saying it's good, nor am I saying it's bad. Personally, I wouldn't really care if I had the time to play, since from my pov, it doesn't make a difference. But I guess the change was made with the pro's and con's in mind. I just fail to see the pro's outweighing the con's.
We all know that tbc is a bit too outdated for today's audience. Compared to later expansions, there's a lot of clunky shit going on. A lot of the diehard tbc fans are moving on, some to other games, some to other activities. The rest of the private server players around are either here to give the expansion a go, because they missed the opportunity to do so when it was live. Or for nostalgic reasons, remembering how baller tbc was back in the day. Both of these camps will either A) not care about the hp display, or B) think it's annoying. Ergo, there's most likely a bigger chance that people will find this negative, rather than positive. I have a hard time picturing a majority of non-diehard tbc fans going "wow, this is pretty cool!" when they're searching for the option to switch to a numerical hp display in the interface options menu.
It's not a big deal, it's just yet another small annoying reality, reminding people how outdated and shitty tbc really is. Don't think it'll make even a fragment of a positive difference, which is also why I don't understand why this change was made in the first place.
I could be wrong though, and maybe the change makes a difference I fail to see, or a lot of players actually think this is a cool feature.
