I know that it's not easy to code something like that, but still at least give it priority over useless fixes like starting out with cooking / fishing (which is not essential).Balls wrote:Server's been dying for about 2 years give or take. That's in correlation with most other servers out there. The private server community isn't going to grow from this I'm afraid. More and more old players are moving on and the newer guys probably don't really have it in them to get into an old expansion.
Hartun implies the server's been neglected when it's quite the contrary. New things have been implemented that you could've only dreamt of having back in 2010 or 2011. You don't know what the fuck you're talking about. In comparison to now, you could've called the server neglected back in the peak days, but it still did fine, because there were a greater number of players still very much into TBC. That's completely different now.
I know you wanna make things easy for noobs but really it also takes away part of the game (this is also the reason why Blizzard lost so many subscribers, there top subscribers was at TBC and Wrath IIRC). Discovering how to learn fishing / cooking, interacting with others players instead of starting off with professions or gear that you normally have to get. I know this make it more noobfriendly but it also causes people to never get better at this game because they need to learn it anyways and giving them this at the starts makes the game more easy and boring.
The waiting times for the battleground on horde side are way too long and I can understand that people cannot be arsed to wait that long for one battleground and I think a lot of people quit just because of that (Apart from the people that only played for the Ezatt vs Fak fued, I don't mean to brag with this but there were seriously players only playing for that). I think that if we had Crossfaction battlegrounds and Dual Specialization about a year ago, we would've lost way less population than we did right now. If I were the admin I would put top-priority to those two things right now since this will make our server unique and stand out from any other TBC-server.
Talking battlegroundwise now apart from that there are of course a lot of other factors that have influence on the population drop: like adding new content (which is kinda hard unless it's custom), arena: you did a great job on 2s and solo queu 3s can't really say on what to improve here would be nice to have 3vs3 with teams and rewards but the population is too low for that currently, duel area is fine now iirc , PvE: this subject is kinda hard because re-opening SWP would make a lot of people sad since it makes PvP unbalanced then again our peak time of players was during the SWP time so maybe rethink of a new concept on how to implement new content or maybe even a new reward system for PvE? Also advertising and a lot of other factors but I guess you get my point.
Just some thoughts I wanted to share from my PoV.
P.S. I think part of the population drop had to do with the removal of SWP, since I have had a lot of whispers or people at LFG complaining that their gear got wiped etc.
It caused more balance but some people can take it quite personal if you remove their gear (even if this happened to everyone apparantly).
I have to agree with FA in some points, the staff should focus on more important things like Dual talent specialization, World channel instead of LFG with auto join and option to leave, Crossfaction Battlegrounds rather than fixing less important crap like totem of spirits doesn't move lol ( just an example).
I have to disagree with the 3s SoloQue, it's fun sometimes for sure but this just ruined the value of Arena rewards and Legendary transmogs. I mean 3s SoloQue players getting the same rewards like 2s is just ridiculous. How about that, make 3s SoloQue Skirmish only and promote the normal 3s.Start with a test season to see if its worth it or not.

Re: What happened?
Yeah it's totally ruined when the same 3 people aren't the ones that have them. You earn through hard work and/or grinding. Not being exclusive in arena.Discyo wrote:3s SoloQue, it's fun sometimes for sure but this just ruined the value of Arena rewards and Legendary transmogs.
It's not. There's a reason a solo queue system was created in the first place... because no one can get 6 people together at decent hours of the day to have a viable system in place.Discyo wrote:make 3s SoloQue Skirmish only and promote the normal 3s.Start with a test season to see if its worth it or not.

Indeed it takes alot effort to one shot t5 mages as BM Hunter untill you're on 2,2k and getting glad in 3s SoloQue.I guess real 3s would work with bigger population sigh. Pce

Once again you don't get it. I thought using bold could help.
There are way more than 10 players who got their SWP from SC.

Highly doubt anyone legitimately killed SWP bosses, even the easier ones.
