Unfortunately we cannot restrict items to 2v2 only, those features existed in WotLK, but not TBC. I'm sure there's a hackish way to do it, but it doesn't really address the problem. We want solo queue to be a viable bracket, it just needs to be fine-tuned.
I've rewritten the rating calculations for 3v3. If you've read the changelog, a month or two ago we changed the rating system for 2v2 (which until tonight affects 3v3 solo queue too) which has made the climb easier, and losing less punishing -- that's why you see much more teams above 2k now compared to other seasons. The new calculations for 3v3 lower the max gain, min loss and max loss. It makes the climb slower and slightly less forgiving for losing compared to 2v2. Additionally, there is not that +2 rating if you're under 1850 bonus. We want this to be a viable bracket, but we need to adjust the rating calculations to be more competative. They work fine for 2v2, but with such an active bracket as the new 3v3 solo queue is, adjustments needs to be made.
At the restart tonight, any 3v3 solo queue team above 1850 rating will be reset to 1850. Additionally, we're setting personal rating = to their team rating to resolve those issues that happened earlier.

From just 3v3, where you even able to get points for weapon?
