Do tell then, what do you propose? You're always so quick to jump on posts, and shoot down ideas. How about you offer a suggestion? Just kidding, toss a .gif instead like usual. :)Cube wrote:I can do that. So can math. This almost constant requirement to try and remove something from the game that doesn't need to be removed. (Not counting SWP, that should have been removed years ago.) I'm waiting for someone to scream on how OP flasks, oil, and food are and demand they're removed. Knowing this community, it's only a matter of time.
Edit: The only point being close to reasonable that's being brought up by the op would have to be this.

I have offered quite a lot of suggestions. I've also stopped doing that, since I don't see a point to it. Recent changes are cool (partially), but they're also quite damn late. Better late than never only goes so far.

Interesting that you keep praising Blizzard for only changing things when they're needed, not when the community bitches about it, yet every single expansion since the beginning has made the game more and more casual to the point I'm sure one of my dead grandparents could do well in it at this point.
Why? Because people bitched about how hard the game was, and they could sell a lot of subscriptions to little kids if the game was easier for them to grasp and succeed in, same with older people who have more important shit to focus on than being a multiglad or clearing the newest raid within a week. Blizzard's main point is to SELL, not to improve the experience of the game (sure they can go hand-in-hand but we know which one they care more about). Guess what, Henouse can't sell, he can get donations sure but nobody subcribes to this server with a payment, comparing the way he runs a server to the way Blizzard does is simply foolish, like yourself.
Additionally claiming Blizzard has done well at all with their game is kinda sad, it's a dying game, everybody knows that, and at this point they've ruined even the interest of those who care about the lore and canon. You can pug endgame raids, you can get multiglad while playing one-handed, and there's no decent story in the game anymore, they've ruined World of Warcraft, if anything I'd say the right model to run a game is the exact opposite of what they've done with WoW unless your goal is to make money no matter the effect on your game.
TL;DR you're stupid, Blizzard runs their shit like the short bus.

Do you know the real reason we've ended up with the population loss? Think about it. It's because TBC is dying. Has been for a few years. The population loss in no way reflects the quality of the updates, because honestly, I feel like the server has more potential now, than let's say 5 years ago. Population loss is due to (in my opinion) the expansion slowly dying out, it's really tough running a TBC server these days because the playerbase just isn't there anymore. People have grown up, moved on, and people from newer expansions find it weird. TBC is a dying breed, and that's a reality you're going to have to accept soon. It won't be around forever.SheLexa wrote:So many things have changed over the last year (I'm here for about 3 years), and after all this balancing and "improvements" we ended up with a huge population loss, think about it.

One more thing @OP. You said you started playing 3 years ago, so you've only started here when Smolderforge was at its peak of popularity. Your point of view is very, very narrow. I remember before those times, when we struggled with population, but nobody was making a fuss about it. It's of concern to you now, because your experience is so heavily influenced by the fact that you had only joined when SF was at its highest. You should consider yourself lucky, if anything.
