WSG is a battleground with a very small static graveyard. World PvP you res near where you die, you can wait for the person to leave or res behind something and run away. Just as well, Isle isn't such a huge place you can't get back to the town before they kill you again (if you choose to not fight back).Henhouse wrote:Waiting time to respawn doesn't work in WSG and it wouldn't work in a random zone either.
Because no one does them. They don't have a big enough reward for the time. (Not saying you should increase it, i'm simply saying it's something that doesn't interest people enough.)Henhouse wrote:You idea of small clusters is what we tried to accomplish with the various quests throughout Azshara instead of attacking the other enemies base, like we did in Hyjal.
The issue is you take away what makes it feel like retail, you add custom zones, spawns, the ability to reset cds between deaths, harder fights because people can jump in willy nilly out of the spawn, and you added a custom zone, period. There's no map/minimap, and it's plain, boring.Henhouse wrote:SF is notoriously known for its mindless farming. I put measures in place to counteract that and it "kills" the fun. Azshara was successful after release for a while, but once I took away the ability to farm the camps, multiple respawn locations and the HKs that were disabled for a while, it dried up.
You're trying to over-complicate a simple problem. We need a place to World PvP, Isle fits the bill perfectly. Don't add custom spawns, make it so guards are placed around the spirit res-er to prevent camping/HK farming. Boost their damage if it isn't high enough. (The reason we don't need a custom spawn/respawn point is because corpse camping IS a part of WoW as a whole, there's a corpse timer for a reason, to prevent HK farming and just as well you can put in the honorless target buff as a debuff, and boost up the time if it's REALLY necessary. There's always a way to escape being corpse camped, just as previously stated, they attempt to kill their killer instead of running, then bitch.)Henhouse wrote:I just don't see there being any real "world" PvP working on SF without some problem, bias or simply no proper incentive to doing so in its present form. I could make it work by removing the HK cap and putting emphasis on HKs but that is about it.
I'm gonna go back to my last; Give it a trial period of a few weeks, see if it TRULY works out, see how many LEGITIMATE problems pop up, and if they're not fixable without turning Isle into Azshara (in the sense of custom spawns etc. which I don't see being necessary in the least.)
