Guild vs Guild or Horde vs Alliance?
Guild vs Guild or Horde vs Alliance?
Greetings,
As you all noticed and experienced the comeback of Smolderforge events with new features, variant kinds and unique contents. We're working on a new event, which will be either Guild vs Guild OR Horde vs Alliance, they share the different idea and of course a Guild vs Guild would be more decent and competitive. However the question is, are there enough guilds willing to subscribe for this event?
I'm going to explain why it's either GvG or HvA:
To make sure that it's completely fair for every guild, this event can be done every 2 or 3 weeks. And there will be a thread for your guilds subscriptions. In other words, everyone will be notified about an upcoming Guild vs Guild event before 2 to 3 weeks of its launch date. Which means, there will be enough time to make the tactics and prepare your roster.
If it's a Guild vs Guild event, each guild will have to choose 5 members (of which there are 2 healers, maximum). And it will compete with another guild subscribed and willing to attend the event. There will be enough feature, other than direct PvP (5v5 in other words), to make it competitive enough: almost similar to an AV scenario:
There will be 2 villages (One Horde and the other Alliance), every guild has to protect its own village: There'll be a specific NPC, like a governor, who needs to be protected from the enemy guild. Specific bosses will spawn while the 2 guilds are fighting. These kinds of new stuff and even more.
NOTICE: Cross-faction guilds can attend under strict rules to prevent win-trading.
However if the results and the number of guilds willing to attend the event weren't enough, it will be a random Horde vs Alliance event. Which won't need a subscription thread but a notice in-game (Maybe a notice before a few days of the event, on the forum).
If we realize the same guilds are playing in this event, we could consider making it a regular tournament. Win-trading rules are applied here as well!
Vote by ticking the type of the event you'd like to see soon.
Any guild is allowed to attend, it requires 5 guild members.

Re: Guild vs Guild or Horde vs Alliance?
To do a 5v5 fight and call it guild vs guild sounds kinda wrong for me, maybe the classification is endless but i would call it a pvp event. I thought it would be something more interesting when was I reading the topic..(before I read the rules). Don't misunderstand me tho but I was imagined some AB, WSG, or even a ganking game but the event maybe is Spot On(e) for someone that can Bring me an Balance to the server..huehue

Re: Guild vs Guild or Horde vs Alliance?
A Guild vs Guild is an event, the event's genre is PvP and you're mixing things. You know, there's a Pirate Event and its genre is Luck. So it's totally normal to say it's a PvP event since the players will be doing PvP... Also, on what features are you judging? The only thing shared is whether it'll be an event based on the guilds or on the two factions.
When this poll is closed, I'll be sharing the info of the chosen event. Right now I recommend you to judge depending if the guilds are enough to get this event going or not.
Don't mind about the number of members chosen, a lot of guilds cannot bring more than 5 members.

Re: Guild vs Guild or Horde vs Alliance?
Ahh very nice! Ima go ahead and opt for the Faction fight though, 5v5 is a little too familiar for me. But yee I do think that the guilds here have enough people to get this going, with the addition of a few guilds that can gather upwards of 10-15 people I'm sure.
Re: Guild vs Guild or Horde vs Alliance?
I'd love to see Guild vs Guild event take place, but seems like people are more into faction vs faction. I hope there will be some class (or just spec) restrictions to avoid 5 elemental shamans teams or so.
@Rarecandy
I think this game could work if we had an active player base and world PvP (which we don't have at all). Targeting people in the topic and killing them in battlegrounds would be just too easy.

It won't be a regular 5v5, not at all. There will be 2 villages (One Horde and the other Alliance), every guild has to protect its own village: There'll be a specific NPC, like a governor, who needs to be protected from the enemy guild. Specific bosses will spawn while the 2 guilds are fighting. These kinds of new stuff and even more, I will never try to host an event as random as you were saying, there's always a Smolderforge touch which makes them unique.*Active wrote: 5v5 is a little too familiar for me.
Only a few guilds can get this amount of players online and attending, making the event end after 2 or 3 rounds.

Re: Guild vs Guild or Horde vs Alliance?
Making it restricted to guilds means that many players can't participate.
In my opinion, "5v5" and "every 2-3 weeks" aren't compatible on a 150-populated server.

Oh dang, I might just switch my vote then hahah. But that's a good idea mate! It sounds like fun to me. Its gonna be a hard event to host that's for sure.Keas wrote:It won't be a regular 5v5, not at all. If it gonna be protecting the firstborn isn't 5v5 to low?
