That was patched in June of 2013. It was patched prior to that, but when we switched cores in early 2013 I forgot to move the old fix over thus reopening that problem. But yeah, he shouldn't crash anymore.Illkissu wrote: The last time we did Gurtogg Bloodboil, the server crashed.

Hey,
As a guild we've been looking into planning raids such as BT/TK/SSC weeks in advance, so my suggestion if you have time would be that we incorporate you into our planned raids so that if any major issues arise you can potentially solve them to a degree, there and then? I agree with you that a lot of the buggy boss encounters, are easy to overcome with enough planning and determination, but bosses like Shade or I believe Lady Vashj (might be wrong) aren't working at all, but from what I've heard you were able to start Shade event for CutiePie?, for example. The only issue with this, is that I often see determined yet not so organised people, new to the server, looking to create BT/SWP/TK raids, that are easily, and not wrongly, thrown off by the buggy scenarios. In the long run I'd love to see these boss encountered corrected, or slightly lessened in difficulty, so that new people to the server can be welcomed by lots of different, and more importantly, interesting, raids to join. I think that this could really increase and broaden the audience that Smolderforge appeals to.
Kind regards,
Pyre.

This is probably the best thing to do. It will help me identity possible problems I may be able to fix as well.Pyrendora wrote:Hey,

Re: A small message to the staff
I pretty much agree with Henhouse that it shouldn't be easier and Keas. However it is difficult to tell the issues about all the bosses. We can't get 25 people to test scripts, because most the people will leave on the first bugged boss. We will try to provide decent report.
Something what nobody has mentioned, is rewarding the players.
25 man raids also should help people gearing their characters. Just remember the time when Zul Aman bosses dropped SWP items. The whole system was okay, everyone used to like to PVE, because people felt like they are have spent their time useful (due to the high ammount of loot, everyone got something even from a single run). The only problem was that everyone got full SWP easily so battlegrounds went a bit messy.
The reward of a 25 man raid should really overcome the reward of HC dungeons, I'm not suggesting SWP items to be dropped or anything special, but in my opinion bosses should drop way more badges (around 6-8 pieces) OR T6 tokens, to make players feel like they actually receive something, that can't be purchased at the mall OR just make the bosses drop more items than the default, because 1-2 pieces of semi useful items won't make every player feel like they aren't just wasting their time.
"In the name of the pug..."
(Example situation for a newcomer on the server after 30 mins of waiting on the battleground Queue he rather joins a BT raid, instead of waiting:
Case A.: For the time being he is in the raid, bosses don't get bugged. He takes a few BT items which is trash for the hard core PVE but treasure for him, cuz he is new here.
He will think, that it was worth it to play and will continue playing.
Case B.: His BT raid goes sad due to some bugged / not starting / overpowered boss-script, even if his raid kills a boss he most likely will recive nothing.
He will think, "ooh f*ck this I'm out" and will never come back to this server again.)

Re: A small message to the staff
Your example is wrong, as you guys leading BT raids will never accept a newcomer.
Moreover, if he's coming here for BGs, he'll usually don't give a damn to PvE, whatever it is.
I really don't understand why the admin team shows so much focus on PvE instances... SF needs, mainly, a PvP renew.
This PvE mafia you guys are rolling with is annoying.

Re: A small message to the staff
Leave after a few wipes, endgame right there. There should be more serious PvE players here who are interested to just fix things. ZA and SWP might work with normal raid lock and not that all reset and re-run.
You can add an reward if the raid can do the time limit in ZA, for example, badges or honor, the usual.. Just do some skyboxes so that you can't pull bosses or take a shortcut.
My worthless idea, SWP should be up and running again with the usual loot table except remove pattern drops so that it won't be like before, even if the iranis are long gone. Would be fun to see M'uru attempts or follow the progression and see if Tsunami can do it better than the past guilds. Worst case scenario just remove Kalecgos.
I don't know what you are thinking or even if you care about PvE content but an idea to increase the population and the standard of the server is to maybe focus a little more on just PvE and it's fixes. Take part in a raid and take notes. Add Fiery Warhorse or Zwift Zhevra into some <final ENDBOSS> loot table or whatever.

Re: A small message to the staff
If we're planning a raid weeks in advance, we're hardly going to accept "newcomers". That being said in Hyjal we took starter geared people, because they were skilled, however taking rogues stacking spell power and stamina is slightly out of the question :DApuclevercow wrote:Your example is wrong, as you guys leading BT raids will never accept a newcomer.

So, a PvP renew? please make a suggestion, because as far as I can tell PvP hasn't got much room for change... I'm all up for supporting a "PvP renewal", however if you're not offering any decent suggestions, can we get back on topic...

Re: A small message to the staff
No matter what kind of PVE topic is going on, you are just like f*ck all of those people who are interested, because you think this is an only PVP server. I tell you what, it is not. If it would be, it wouldn't have a completely custom, scripted dungeon.Apuclevercow wrote:Your example is wrong, as you guys leading BT raids will never accept a newcomer.

Have you ever heard about players playing both PVP and PVE? Are you claiming you have never entered a single dungeon? No matter what you will asnwer, your reply won't make any sense anyway. Just go back and play CS:Source. Please open your mind a little bit...

Re: A small message to the staff
Where exactly does it write that Smolderforge is PVP server?
Quoted from main site:
In 2007 when private servers were still new to the world, and were so unstable you could crash the server by entering a new zone, we had an idea of making a funserver that appealed to the end-game aspects of WoW at that time.
