regarding arena spectating
I would like to propose some changes. I'm not really decided between them, some exlude each other, have diffrent pros and cons.
1. Make it so, BG queue does not exlude you from spectating. IMO, thats exacly the time I would like spectate in the long run, while in these 20 ppl 20 min+ queues to fight boredom.
2. Just being in a 2v2 team should prevent from spectating. If one really logs to spectate, he can log any alt. Should reverse queue doging to state it was before spectating was introduced. (analogically 3v3 ofc.)
3. While being in a party with your arena mate - no spectating. Similar to above, less restrictive but easier to walk around.
4. Maybe it would be possible to display one of the team as friendly? Would be a lot easier to distinguish teams.
5. If either 2 or 3 aswell. Make it so, it is possible to spectate before the fight actually starts. Not being able to see the openers kinda sucks.
That's it for now. I will probably come up with something up later aswell. If you have any other suggestions please write them.

1. yeah this is great idea but i guess it's disabled for a reason
2. this is stupid, really really stupid. you can simply use /who arena ruins to see who is playing or walk around tanaris to see players that might be queing.. dodging will always be a problem on small servers like SF
3. agreed, also would love chat enabled while spectating, it's disabled because of 'shit talking' but it's pretty boring to watch games alone, it's much better while talking with mate or 2
4. wat
5. agreed

1. This is the way the system is written. You cannot be in a queue when you're already in a BG/arena. The system sees you as being in such, therefore you cannot queue.
2. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Spectating is for non-arena players now then?
3. I don't see why.
4. Get the addon. Solves this problem and makes it much nicer to spectate.
5. We want to change this in the future.
In regards to enabling chat, this won't be done. Allowing chat allows for any way for a player to easily communicate aspects of that match to a friend who is currently fighting. While this may seem as not that big of a deal, it still alters normal arena game-play. Such 3rd-party uses such as Skype, etc. cannot be monitored from within our game so that is irrelevant.

who the hell cares that much to involve third party into arenas? if you are TRYHARDER you can always talk with third party on skype but meh.. enabled chat is really better, this is how it works on Next-Gen and AT. it might provide more shittalking but still worth it imo

Or maybe just a way to let spectators talk between them but don't allow badiators to see what spectators are saying (?)

Just leave it as it is. It works and people can't abuse it.
I'm sure you can always find a way, but with the no chatting while spectating I think it's as tough as we could make it.

abuse whisper chat?
have you ever heard of ignore?
sf is full of flaming/shit talking and disabling chat while specacting does not reduce it at all.

They're worried about ghosting. Not that it matters imo. If people want to ghost, they'll ghost anyway. Simple as that.

You're right. However, I feel like we should make it as hard as we can for them. :-)Cube wrote:They're worried about ghosting. Not that it matters imo. If people want to ghost, they'll ghost anyway. Simple as that.
