2.4.3 PvP builds

Post by Bucovsky »

I made a list of useful TBC PvP builds and decided to share it, maybe someone could make use of it. I am not an expert so If there are any serious mistakes, please let me know so I can fix it, feedback is pretty much welcome. There are many different opinions about builds, everyone has his own theory, I don't mind if you add your own build if you think those already posted are wrong. All the links I have originally posted were selfmade, I haven't copied anything from any site.
Thanks to everybody for sharing their builds and helping to develop the list!

THIS TOPIC DOES NOT CONTAIN RAID/DUNGEON ORIENTED BUILDS

I saved all those builds as images and uploaded them because talent calculator sites are usually closed after some time. Here's the link:

Frost

Fire

Elemental

And you forgot this Destruction spec.

And you're missing Quick Recovery/Improved Poisons from the muti specs. And you only need 4/5 Seal Fate. Plus, you should remove the Serrated Blades points and put them in Improved Gouge.

Edit: @muti, you can do a lot with the spec, and I didn't mean to say that you should only have 4/5 Seal Fate, but you can drop one point. When it comes to Imp Gouge, unless you play some wannabe wrath Envenom spec, you should really invest in it. And Imp Poisons is pretty vital for the spec. Spamming Shiv really hurts your energy management, and if you don't have poisons up, you'll lost out on a lot of damage. Same goes for Quick Recovery. Other talents you can drop that aren't vital to the spec are Ruthlessness and Setup. They're not bad, but not necessary.

Edit 2: Don't underestimate Imp Wand.

Thanks, added specs you linked.
I would be grateful if you could link muti specs you consider to be best.
EDIT: Actually I was hoping that you will post some good mage specs.

There's quite a few muti specs buried in the Rogue forums.

And there's Harp as well.

Added. I thought of HARP spec as well, but I wasn't sure which combination would make best one so I didn't add it.

Another variation of the frost offspec for the fire build. Less icelance, more control.

Edit: Not really spec related, but still kinda is. If you play mage, and you pvp, for GOD'S sake, use +40 spell damage. You do more than fire/frost damage. Only exception would be pom, but seriously, that's just sad.

Great builds dude, I'll take a look. :-)

HARP used to be a great spec before 2.4, when Prep still reset AR. After that nerf it's mediocre.

With Frost and Elemental spec, having 3/3 imp. Blizzard is a personal preference. I have 1/3 and it still works.

SHS: I'm not sure whether the talent Murder works... I remember reading about it. Better take 2/3 Eviscerate instead :P

Yep, there are many combat rogue strategies mentioned in arena junkies archives.

About Dreamstate spec, you should use 2 points in nature's focus instead of improved motw.
About feral spec, nature's grasp isn't that useful, I usually take 2 points in survival of the fittest (feral tree).
