Re: Reimplementing BG balance system
The problem is this is imagine 2 people quitting and there being a lull in players for a while. This will cause the "BG has too few players, ending in 1 minute 30 seconds" to begin. I feel like this will result in a lot of more ended BGs when players may come along.SheLexa wrote:I suggest moving the required number of players to start a bg higer, like 13 minumum instead of 8.

Re: Reimplementing BG balance system
Yeah it might happen, but i still find it better to end it then get gy farmed.Henhouse wrote: The problem is this is imagine 2 people quitting and there being a lull in players for a while. Also, in your suggestion, what if a player or two leave? will a player from the opposite faction be kicked to balance it? Will it again be a 15v10 gy farming? or it will stay like that unlit some more joins?
If its the third option then there is no differenece in my and your suggestion, because if one leaves another will be added from the que, and if there is no1 for a while its again the same.
It might be 12 minimum, so it leaves more space to prevent the bg end but its still far more balanced then 15v8.
At the end i still belive a 2min countdown to bg close its better then been gy farmed for 15min because the other team doubles you.
At the end the only major difference is that in my suggestion premades wont be splitted to different bgs

Re: Reimplementing BG balance system
If someone were to leave with the system, it could be imbalanced for a time, but usually not very long and not by much as if say that Horde play leaves, then the BG will keep it 7v7 for example, however that woul be below the threshold and the BG would end.
Raising it to 13 min people requires many more people while offering the same balance, whereas BGs are playable with less than 13 people which is why the standard 8 required seems more fitting to get a BG started. It can be raised, but queues will be considerably longer.

Re: Reimplementing BG balance system
The 3rd person would have to wait for another person to que on the other side, then he would join the same bg as his group with a delay.Henhouse wrote:The only problem was this could break group-queuing. Eg: you queue with 3 people, but only 2 spots are open, so 2 get pops, but not the other person.
I can imagine that it's designed wrong, and the 3rd person could not be able to join same bg and would wait to join next bg instead in certain siituation. It shouldn't happen if it's done right - just look how it's done right now, noone from a 3 ppl group can get in a AB that has 13 ppl in it already, since they would not fit in. They have to wait for next bg for which they will have 3 places reserved.
It is all about details in this system design, there are many thing than can be done in diffrent ways.

Re: Reimplementing BG balance system
No, don't break group queuing. I don't see why you're so against cross faction bgs, it would eliminate the problem
edit: and how about enabling 3v3 again please

Re: Reimplementing BG balance system
You and me started playing at the same time, you have 250k + HK's, I have 40k. Of course, I'm the one who does too many premades, lol. The only reason why you're against premades is because you can't beat Passion anymore.Firstaidkit wrote:If with friends you mean 4 PvE boomkins, 2 PvE Elementals, 2 PvE mages and a healer, then no.Xaru wrote:I like the idea of equal BG's but I don't like the fact that it could mean that we might queue up with friends and join separate BG's. :l

And like Imperium said, I thought you quit?
@Terrion, thank you. I am fully in support of making equal BG's since I'm Alliance, but on the other hand breaking group queueing would suck. It's one of those things where you have to balance the positives and negatives. I think it's better to keep things as they are personally since it's not that big of a deal, but not being able to queue with friends would suck.

Re: Reimplementing BG balance system
I believe a lot of people are under the impression this completely breaks group queuing, and that is not true. In some instances you will experiences players who, like Gregoriano said, must wait longer than other members of the group to get a pop, but not always. There will be many instances where your whole group will get in, namely, new BG pops. But this does not completely break group queuing by any means.

Re: Reimplementing BG balance system
Ah, I guess in that case it isn't such a big deal then. I suppose I don't mind if it's added then if other people want it added. Hopefully it will get more Horde to go Alliance.Henhouse wrote:I believe a lot of people are under the impression this completely breaks group queuing, and that is not true. Re: Reimplementing BG balance system
Why so off-topic? Yes, we started around the same time I just played a lot more than you did. And lol I'm scared of Passion? What? Last time I faced their premades they had no chance. It's kinda dying again, and horde is overpowered.Xaru wrote:You and me started playing at the same time, you have 250k + HK's, I have 40k. Of course, I'm the one who does too many premades, lol. I actually did quit for 5 days or so but since Henhouse got rid of the HK list yesterday I already returned here since that basically solved the issue as well. Also that was my only intention with this whole drama that got started.
