Re: New PC.
You don't need an aftermarket CPU cooler - the 3570k comes with a good enough stock cooler.
I'd still probably go with ASRock 970 / Phenom 965 with HD7770 if your main game is WoW: TBC.
edit: clarification
HD7770 is a poor match with i5-3570k. You're getting a great processor, with a lackluster graphics card. You won't need a good graphics card for WoW, thats true - but if you only get a HD7770 you can shave quite a bit of money by downgrading your processor a bit (will have barely any difference to your framerate, especially if you play with v-sync on).
3570k + HD7770 is like playing a level 70 priest with level 50 gear.
more edits: the windows you took is 32-bit. You want a 64-bit version.

Looks good. The HDD is expensive. If you only use the 2TB drive for storage, you can pick the WD green version.

Re: New PC.
Thought you said it was shit xD. If it really is shit then I rather buy the expensive one.

Re: New PC.
It sure is but an i5 uses much lesser power, both in idle and load that the price difference at first is worth it and it gives enough room if he decides to play something newer on it, since upgrading a CPU is a lot more pain than a GPU.Deems wrote:Personally if I chose HD7770 I'd go for the Phenom 965. It's a beast of a processor for its pricetag, and will be more than enough to run WoW.
Besides that, for movies Kepler chips would be better too because they use a lot lesser power than AMD ones for blurays. So something like a 650 Boost.
But in the end thats just being perfectionistic and PII/HD7770 is a great combo for your current needs Mr Fak.

Re: New PC.
Any well-fare, low price computer could run that.
I WOULD, rather buy a proper 24" Monitor.
I spent 1600 EUR on my computer.
i7 - 3770k
Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 3GB GDDR5
16GB DDR3
I can run every game yet released on Ultra properly!
So judging buy your budget you could pretty much buy whatever your heart desires, but for heaven's sake lay off the iMacs.
----------------
If you're wondering why my pc was so expensive, judging by the parts
-- Supersilent case, watercooling and a capable powersupply - x2 - 24"es.

Re: New PC.
Honestly, in a 500€ pc the power consumption is the last thing you have to worry about. Unless electricity is expensive as fuck whereever you live.Amgseret wrote:It sure is but an i5 uses much lesser power, both in idle and load that the price difference at first is worth it and it gives enough room if he decides to play something newer on it, since upgrading a CPU is a lot more pain than a GPU.Deems wrote:Personally if I chose HD7770 I'd go for the Phenom 965. It tends to be in Europe, though I cant say I know the exact prices in Netherlands.Deems wrote:Honestly, in a 500€ pc the power consumption is the last thing you have to worry about. Unless electricity is expensive as fuck whereever you live.
Seconded. Given the huge budget even a 27" IPS screen should be possible and it improves the experience A LOT.Deceitx wrote:I WOULD, rather buy a proper 24" Monitor.

Re: New PC.
@Deceitx: That's way too much I don't need THAT much =P. I'd rather buy the current setup that I posted in the last screenshot.
@Seret: Also electricity is not a problem since I'm not paying those bills ;d.
@Deems: So I can install Windows 8 on the SSD drive as main drive and use the 2 TB WD Green as storage?
I already got a monitor.
