Whats wrong with using all known bugs? If the guy should get banned, then every warrior speccing mace should be too.

Re: Ashoka bugging pet
Mace stun actually currently uses the pre 2.3.0 proc chance. (This is getting fixed). We are trying to solve the issue with pets and textures, so please have patience.
On another note, by having pets stuck in pillars, they will never be able to use special abilities, such as scorpid venom or devour magic, so the bug is not entirely to hunter/warlocks favour.

It can't use special abilities if it's dead either.Exsurgo wrote:Mace stun actually currently uses the pre 2.3.0 proc chance. (This is getting fixed). We are trying to solve the issue with pets and textures, so please have patience.

Re: Ashoka bugging pet
I don't think you understand the role of the pet in arena, it's most important roll is to keep the healer in combat, bugging him in the pillar means the other team can drink freely while you cannot, making for an unstoppable drain comp.Exsurgo wrote:Mace stun actually currently uses the pre 2.3.0 proc chance. I am a friend of Ashoka but I have faced him in Arena and he does indeed use this to his advantage, pulling the pet through the pillar so he can't be attacked meaning we waste mana/cds to kill the pet and then the pet can survive at any time he wants, it basically means the only way you can beat those comps is if you burst them. But then again this isn't his fault, it's a server bug, you can't blame him for using it to his advantage.

Re: Ashoka bugging pet
Yeah. Bugs exist and some people use them to their advantage. I recall someone who was pretty keen on making smart use of certain items that scale with spell damage, too =D This feels like it's a bit dirty and 'not fair' but there's not much that can be done about it 'till it gets fixed.

Re: Ashoka bugging pet
I played a hunter on retail during tbc, I understand the role of the pet pretty well. Part of that role was to prevent healers from drinking (ineffective on blades edge). A big part of the role against paladins/druids was for the scorpid to stack poisons preventing the dispel of viper sting, or having the felhunter dispelling magical buffs every 8s.Xaru wrote:I don't think you understand the role of the pet in arena, it's most important roll is to keep the healer in combat, bugging him in the pillar means the other team can drink freely while you cannot, making for an unstoppable drain comp.Exsurgo wrote:Mace stun actually currently uses the pre 2.3.0 proc chance. Currently, if the pet is inside a pillar, it cannot use these abilities. It can also be auto-attacked through pillars, which in the case of melee in tbc is 60%+ damage.
The big problem happened when recently the core was changed so that pets could attack targets that are out of los (behind pillars). Normally this is a standard mechanic, but on SF it has enabled players to very easily bug out pets inside pillars by spamming attack and follow.
Depending on how long it takes to implement a move-maps system, it may be necessary to implement the los restriction for pets again in arena as a temporary band-aid.
