Significant Subtlety Damage Bug (+20%)
Significant Subtlety Damage Bug (+20%)
So I have discovered a significant bug in the Subtlety Tree that buffs white damage by +20% more than it should be under certain conditions.
What is the bug:
The talent Dirty Deeds is increasing both the normal and special damage done by abilities by 20% against targets with less than 35% health.
How can you test this:
Create a naked player as the victim. Get a rogue, gear him out, spec full subtlety and then go to ogrimmar and buy the lvl 10 grey first weapon (narrow damage range). Equip the weapon in the main hand and then un-equip the offhand weapon. Attack the naked target.
You will see the white damage increase by 20% when the victim drops below 35% health.
It will look like this:
Above 35% health:
Avg non-crit damage ~ 210
Below 35% health:
Avg non-crit damage ~ 250
210 * 1.2 ~= 250
How can this be fixed:
This damage modifier needs to be changed to only affect special attacks.
This means when a target is below 35% health SHS rogues are doing 20% more white damage than they should be, and therefore ~10~15% more overall damage than they should be in these scenarios.

Re: Significant Subtlety Damage Bug (+20%)
I've noticed my damage being high as well. Generally rogues are pretty broken here (and SWP gear doesn't help in the slightest since Rogues scale well with gear). Good find, hope it gets fixed soon. Hate to see rogues just cleaving like retards. We always were a utility class.

Interesting and probably much more significant than the DW hit chance, which seems not to be as good in "real" pvp, where you constantly see dodges and misses from behind even if you are way beyond hitcap.

Re: Significant Subtlety Damage Bug (+20%)
When you combine the two together the effect is pretty game breaking.
The Dual wield bug is probably still more major because it increases poison proc chance.
Also players dodge/parry from behind because of client-server latency. I.E on your screen you might be behind them but on their screen they are facing you.

Poison proc chance get balanced pretty well by fucked vile poisons Id say (unless its fixed now?)Exsurgo wrote:When you combine the two together the effect is pretty game breaking.

Aww, spamming wound shiv on a druid that dispelled the shit faster then I could get a stack was too funny.
As for latency, not sure if its that drastic, I live pretty close to the server and even WITH downloads running, its never over 70. Stunned guys tend not to move much either. Besides, the standard dodge for non melee is 5% and seeing miss, miss, dodge, miss over a lock, while you have 11% hit is not that funny when it happens as often as it does here. (Not to say that spellhit is better)

The lock is probably using that voidwalker ability that reduces your chance to hit by 15%. I am pretty sure vile poisons works, but sometimes rng can seem horrendous.

Re: Significant Subtlety Damage Bug (+20%)
Does void reduce phys dmg only? Lock was just synonym for caster, where one wouldnt expect the dodge/miss chance even with shitty rng. Same happening with melees that tend to have much more dodge would be more or less reasonable. Maybe the popular +10 dodge gems are worth it though...Exsurgo wrote:The lock is probably using that voidwalker ability that reduces your chance to hit by 15%. The time I played it worked that bad, that I dont think it could be just rng. I dont remember virtually a single time where it made a difference (full specced obviously), over different chars from different accs, so I have to be extremely unlucky. The opinion from the population was quiet mixed too.

Great job again. Hopefully the devs will look in to it and fix it.
