Need (new)suggestions for computer build.

Talk about anything here, related to Smolderforge or not.

Since I'm gonna get a new PC myself and Imperium seems to be in a similar situation, I thought to throw my case here too :P I plan on a desktop in the range of ~750EU. I already have the monitor. So, here is what I'll probably be getting by the end of the next month. Check it out and tell me if it's good, kay? :)

PSU: Corsair Builder Series 600W V2
CPU: i5 3470 3.20 GHz
MB: Gigabyte M-ATX Z77
RAM: Corsair 4GB DDR3 1600 MHz
VGA: GeForce GT650 1GB
HDD: Western Digital 500GB

Not planning on going for over 4GB of RAM yet, since I'll be, for now, running on 32-bit OS.
I was gonna get a hydro cooler (Corsair Hydro Series H60) but it's of a considerable size compared to my Tower Case and it'll likely hinder the flow of air. So, I'll most likely go for another cooler (Not a hydro one). Any suggestions?

Considering your processor is a "non-K", you'll do just fine with intel's stock cooler (or just buy a cheap air cooler).

If its possible, save a bit more money and go for a Radeon 7850 instead of the GT 650.

I'll likely get an air cooler in the range of 30-40eu.
Afaik Radeon 7850 sits at ~250eu (or am I wrong?) - I can't cover that, for the time being. I could start saving but that would make things a nightmare, as I need a new PC asap (Current one i a total mess).

Generally, the target is to play the currently new games (e.g. Skyrim) on Medium (and hopefully High (Not Ultra of course) ) Graphics settings smoothly. (Maybe ~40-50 fps? dunno)

Where do you live? Its hard to figure out stuff when different countries have so different prices.

Greece.
After a short checkup on the site of the company I'm gonna get my PC from, it seems a Radeon 7850 HD 2GB costs 225eu. They do not have any non-HD or 1GB version of Radeon 7850. Hence, this card is out of the question for now.
PS: geForce GT 650 costs 120eu.

PS: It's a Gigabyte Radeon 7850 HD 2GB.
PPS: Does a non-HD model of Radeon 7850 even exist? I just know that both 1GB and 2GB models of that card exist, but I have no idea regarding HD or non-HD models. Clarify please.

Gigabyte is only the manufacturer of that specific card.

The HD is not related to the model in any way. Radeon cards just happen to be called HD6xxx, HD7xxx and so forth.

What comes to GT 650, you'll get what you pay for. Considering it is the non-Ti version of that card, it will perform rather badly in newer games (it will do DECENT in Skyrim in ~mid settings).

This is a benchmark result of GT 650 in Skyrim (on ultra preset though, and 1080p resolution)

Here's a benchmark result for Cataclysm (4.3.4 client)

edit: Imperium, look at my first post in this topic.

How many games are you planning on having? I have 1TB on both my computers and I use about 47% of the drive. If I had 500gb I would constantly be battling for space. In 2010 I got a 1TB HDD from Western Digital for $79. Works great ever since, apparently I got it for cheap though. :\

That was before the Thailand floods that fucked up WD and other HDD manufacturer factories. But the prices are slowly coming down again (Spinpoint F3 1TB is only a tad below $90).

500GB will likely suffice for the amount of games I'll be having. Besides I won't have all of them installed at the same time, though I'd still be likely fine. Nevertheless, I plan on making a list of the games I'll install so I 'll calculate spatial issues later on. It's the last thing I'm worried about.

Now, regarding the VGA. I had no idea Gigabyte was the sole manufacturer of Radeon cards and also no idea the HD thing was part of their name. I thought there was an HD and a non-HD "version". Thanks for clarifying that.

And well, if a GTX 650 can run Skyrim at 35fps on ULTRA and 1920x1080 (my monitor can support up to 1366x768 and I'm totally fine with that), I think it'll run pretty great on Medium/High etc. Nevertheless, any solid alternative to the GTX 650, in the same price range? (~100-130eu max 150 I guess) I unfortunately can't afford a high-end gaming card like Radeon 7850 :<

It is not the only manufacturer, I actually misinterpreted your earlier post when you were talking about the Gigabyte card. Disregard what I said, did not read your post thoroughly.

HD7770 GHz Edition should perform a little better, for almost the same price (or even less, as the case is at where I live).

7850 is far from high-end my friend.
