Need (new)suggestions for computer build.

Post by Imperium »

Decided on the out line, more or less.

Quadcore processor.
NVIDIA graphics card.
1000 watt power supply.
full-tower case.
monitor that can do 1680x1050 resolution.

not sure what kind of MOBO though. halp.

Price range is: 800 and less.

Is it possible?

Try this. Will run circles around the $813 build from hardware-revolution.

If you absolutely MUST stay below $800 in the budget, just replace the case with something that costs less. Or replace 1TB HDD with a 500GB one.

This is the mobo I'm getting Got a nvid 460, I5 and a 650 watt modular PSU

Also a 1000Watt PSU is overkill imo unless you are SLI'ing if not go for a 650-800 watt at most, but thats me, what socket do you want on the core cause price range you said aims at 1155 but it goes up to 2011 and down to 755 but 1155 is in the price range imo.

Essentially we accidentally made it so BGs/Instances forgot how to count. That's why the buffs never went away and you could never do anything timed, or calculated.

So basically you set there nationality to Iran?

1000 watt PSU? Hahaha. I have a GTX 580 OC, 8gb ram, 4.6ghz i5 2500k and I'm running it all on a 500 watt PSU. Go to reddit.com/r/buildapc for the best advice. It's a lot simpler than it seems and you'll save a lot of money.

Easily the best site I've ever used when making my own computer. Just go to build your own computer and select a category. If you dont want to pass 800 but you also want to calculate buying a monitor into that price then you'll have to choose the cheapest category. I would suggest spending a little more and going into the 800+ category because its a lot more bang for your buck but you'll end up spending close to 900+ dollars including monitor. Look around on the site and putting together the computer will be easy as pie.

I don't think you'll ever need 1000 watt power supply, you'll be fine with a 500w especially if you don't plan on spending over 800 dollars.

Deems is right. It's a waste to build your own computer and not get a 1080p monitor, you'll have to get one eventually. You might save more money now but in the long run you're just going to be replacing it within the next year or so.

You should get a list together and wait till black friday, if nothing else you can get ram really cheap and you might find some other good deals once you know what you're looking for.

Why do you have a 1680x1050 monitor when you could have a 1920x1080 one?

Epic replies.

A friend convinced me today that I should most definitely get a 10000watt power supply, because with 500 I'll "be replacing it in about a year"
So would it just be easier to get a 500?

Unless you're going run quad-SLI gpu, you won't be needing 1000watts.

500 watt is enough for any build with $800 budget.

edit: if you decide to follow hardware-revolution, don't do the mistake of taking the 1GB 560 Ti as your gpu.

My PC runs on 500 watts just fine. I think you would need really, really expensive shit to use 1000, like Deems said.
