Hyjal GY camping
Re: Hyjal GY camping
This is not a vote, and I understand 100% the concerns Henhouse listed. But I like Hillsbrad.
I am convinced that the problem with Hyjal is it is too small and too linear. This means that 90% of the pvp in concentrated on a narrow slip from the horde to the alliance base. This set-up hugely favours zergs.
I will try to make clear what I consider the fix to this is. Try and split the pvp hotspots of the zone up a little-bit. Can you imagine AB or EOTS with only one base. That is what hyjal in effect is like.
Graveyards must be treated as pvp hotspots, because unfortunately, that is how most players treat them.
So what about the following radical solution?
Why not just make players rez in Tarnaris when they die in Hillsbrad? Then there could be several portals to get back in to Hillsbrad so that they are not forced to go to the same location.
This would stop gy farming issues for good
Another problem is there is not enough terrain and objects to hide behind. This means caster zergs and intercepting warriors become in-escapable. But the towns in Hillsbrad provide some nice natural cover.

Re: Hyjal GY camping
The random spawn points is the only good I saw out of that, unfortunately. There's no reason for BG buffs, because this is not a BG where one side or the other is turtling with no intention to attack. There's even less reason for cooldown refresh. This is a pvp area, not a test dummy. Why the heck would you want to promote people blowing every single Cooldown they have for every pvp encounter they come across? That'll become such a crutch, Tiny Tim will get jelly.Firstaidkit wrote:

Random respawn points to avoid excessive farming (because if you do 4 or 5 different spots then people will just memorize them or write them down and just check there everytime if they kill someone).
Put buffs around the area like: Beserker, food/mana buff, cooldowns reset etc.
All you need is a safe spot, protected by a Sonic Boom guard or two, a wide open area, and a reason for people to go, and that's it. You don't need anything else, and sure as hell not cooldown resetting.

Re: Hyjal GY camping
Well they will be rare and spread around the whole area and they just need to spawn on random places not on the same location everytime.
It will make the FFA area more interesting, I think.
And since you can only group up with 3 players it would not be any problem I think. I don't think you can camp there since it's FFA and the respawns are random and only 3 people max in group it will sometimes be 2 groups vs 1 or just group vs group vs group vs group or whatever :P.
It's not really neccessary to have a safe spot and the safe spot with the Sonic Boom guards in Hyjal was pretty much fail since you can still attack people without aggroing the guards.
You don't really need bases like in Hyjal because bases usually have graveyards and people just abuse those, remember?
I think it would be way better to start off a random spot on the isle or area in mage-stealthed mode (so you cannot see enemy's and enemy's cannot see you for the first 10 seconds or something). That would be most fair for all parties. Since you are in a group with 3 people you only have to group up with them or go in solo whatever you prefer.
Just bringing ideas in this thread for ya'll, do whatever you like with it.

Don't think random spawn points is possible to pull off, not for players, nor buffs.

Re: Hyjal GY camping
Would it not still be easier to just make players spawn in Tarnaris when they die? And then portal back in?
I just think that solution is simpler than making a huge number of npc spirit guardians that will clutter up the environment. Maybe a similar coding used to that which is used in arena (i.e if you die you reappear where you were before the game after it finishes).
I think Unguru is quite a clever idea if the spirit cystals that are obtained from the zone could be used as a prerequisite for a special quest. This would also add variety rather than everyone zerging in the middle.

So this means:
1 quest for both factions type '' Kill the guards quest''
1 quest for both factions type '' Kill the other faction mini boss quest''
1 quest ''wanted'' where you go in the center of the map ( Fire Plume Ridge) where you need at least 5 people to kill a cave boss or something.
1 quest for both factions '' Capturing the crystals''' where the first type of crystals, lets call them A type will be only in the left side of the map while the other type of crystals, type B will be in the right side, making players move around the whole map. For example A type crystals will be in ''The Marshlands'' and B type crystals will be in ''Golakka Hot Springs'' and if that's now enough you can add a C type of crystals that are in and around ''Fire Plume Ridge'' .
And if thats not enough you can spawn a few big dinosaurs since its Un'Goro Crater. They can be level 70 elites which would require at least 3 players to be defeated and they'll be around the whole map. Mostly in areas where people just need to walk. That would be cool because imagine you're pvping and suddenly a giant T-rex comes and pwns you or your enemy. i recommend just 3-4 of them added in the whole map.
Something like that would be nice.
P.S make a stealth vendor who spawns everyday for 1 hour and he/she's an explorer or soemthing and sells funny/interesting items!

Ungoro Crater? Really? You've literally got to be kidding me.
Have fun running through the forest, aggroing every Dinosaur that dismounts you when you get dazed, getting dismounted everytime you cross a body of water and being so much open space you cannot even find other players.
Yeah sounds good.
