Server Changelog -- Update 5/3/12

May 3rd, 2012:
  • Arena Season 14 has ended. Titles and mount rewards distributed. Season 15 has begun.
  • After community feedback and thought's and considerations, we have lowered the HK rank titles back down. Please see this thread for the new rates.
  • Queuing as group in Warsong Gulch has temporarily been disabled. Due to the nature of graveyard farming, as well as the simple overpowered-ness premade groups have become against normal groups, we have disabled this feature so that players may only solo-queue for this battleground to attempt to preserve the quality of it.
  • Battleground timers have _finally_ been fixed since they were last changed around Christmas. Instead of being -12 hours off, they are finally their correct +12 hours ahead to match GMT+1.
  • Some more Hyjal guards have been placed to continue to prevent graveyard farming.
  • Improved Mana Gem's spell power bonus has been fixed.

June 16th, 2012:
  • Dynamic Vertical Maps have been implemented (vmaps4). This adds light-of-sight support to gameobjects to prevent exploiting and better calculations and playability. This may improve previous algorithms from vmaps3. So you may notice other improvements in other areas.
  • Certain changes were reverted which should have caused /use to break.
  • Graccu's Mince Meat Fruitcake has been wiped from all players. We've realized the ability to stack this with other drinks was simply too much of a harm to normal PvP circumstances for classes that rely on mana. It would allow 700+ mana to be restored per 0.75 seconds when stacked with normal drinks. They may return in the future for a price.
  • It should now be impossible to remove cooldowns via Liron when in the middle of a duel.
  • There is now teleport locations to the two profession sections via Liron.
  • PvP kill requirements for titles have been fixed correctly. They accidentally were reverted to the 15k scale for a few weeks unintentionally.

  • After having the ability to extensively test vmaps4, we've decided they're not working as well as we'd like. (we were really beta-testing). Since vmaps4 is not really essential on TBC, we've decided to remove them as it was causing too many problems with line of sight issues.
  • Anticheat is back in the system after having to remove it to test vmaps4. You should notice the few hackers disappear again.

July 3rd, 2012:
  • Extended maintenance & cleanups performed.
  • Hyjal is now back on a rotation timer. After many months we've noticed the quality of this place degrade as people too it too seriously and farmed the ever-loving shit out of it. It will open once every other hour.
  • The /use command is back to being unable to be abused. Thank you to the people who trying convincing me this was "wrong" to have put in place when indeed you just abuse it for personal gain. This also fixes certain eating & bandaging exploits again.
  • The vote murloc has received some text-updates. Cache clearing is required to see.
We have made plans to move our core to Skyfire_one which continued the OregonCore project but with a few more fixes and much more performance increases. We will slowly being getting ready to switch over there. In the mean time, we will be also swapping over our ancient spell_* tables which have not been updated since the MaNGOS days when we perform this move. There is a good chance many things will be fixed by this, and many things could break again. We'll see. Some fixes that may get reverted like Blackout, will be able to simply be reapplied like last time.

Core/Features:
  • Core move from OregonCore -> Skyfire_one (OC continued...)
  • Much of the inter-workings of the core have been converted all to ACE singletons which should massively help server performance and less CPU stress.
  • Maps are additionally onto Ace threading.
  • Entire core files have been restructured to fix proper Trinity-like structures.
  • Calculations for hit/miss have been optimized to correctly fit 2.x.
  • Players no longer start out with clothes.
  • Transmogrification has been implemented into the core, but is not yet a part of the game.
Bug Fixes/Spell Fixes:
  • Tremendous work done on the summon system. Summoned pets should have correct stats now.
  • Warlock pets should now properly autocast spells when autocast is on.
  • Fixed Warlock pets name generation at first summon.
  • Stealth detection's algorithms have been optimized. These should be more accurate.
  • Water Elemental's no longer improperly run towards their target in between waterbolt casts.
  • Water Elemental's have a proper Line of Sight check now.
  • Water Elemental's are now properly immune to frost damage.
  • Water Elemental's now send a pet tab in the Mages' spellbook.
  • Water Elemental's spell bonus has been fixed.
  • Pets in defensive mode will no longer attack players that right click them.
  • Pets will attack if in defensive mode and: is being attacked, their owner is being attacked, their owner does damage to a target.
  • Warlock pets will now auto-resurrect upon player resurrection in a battleground.
  • Summoning Shadowfiend will set its react state AGGRESSIVE instead of DEFENSIVE.
  • Evocation can now be interrupted.
  • Reflective Shield no longer improperly puts players in combat.
  • Fixed Totemic Call. Now restores the correct amount of mana (25 %) when used.
  • Line of sight checks for Blizzard and Rain of Fire have been implemented.
  • Heroism and Bloodlust no longer check for if the player is in LoS.
  • It is now possible to absorb the damage from Mana Burn, but still lose mana.
  • Flare no longer improperly lands instantly.
  • Arcane Missiles will no longer set unit in combat until the actual damage is done.
  • Fixed global cooldown being removed when canceling some channeled spells.
  • Fixed totem timers being displayed under character portrait.
  • Player's companion pets should now behavior properly.
  • Slice and Dice now properly breaks stealth.
  • Sanctified Seals now affects Seal of the Crusader as it should.
  • Abolish Poison and Disease Effect are now properly working.
  • Bosses in raids/dungeons will no longer treat totems as "random" players.
  • Netherweave Net has been fixed.
  • Righteous Defense has been fixed.
  • Steady Shot has been fixed and now does the correct +150 damage.
Exploit/Combat fixes:
  • Fixed trade exploit by changing bags.
  • Fixed a meta-gem exploit.
  • Broken items cannot be enchanted. Fixes rockbiter weapon exploit.
  • Periodic ticks will now show 'Absorbed' text if the tick is absorbed.
  • DoT absorption is now properly shown in the combat log.
  • Mana Burn is now properly showing damage above player's head and in their combat log.
  • Added server-side check for not allowing non-instant spells with movement interrupt flag to be casted while moving.
  • Support for applying enchants after trades has been implemented.
  • Elixir of Major Mageblood should no longer be possible to carry over into arena.
  • It is no longer possible to disband your arena team while in queue.

August 26th, 2012:
  • Issue with elixirs & flask stacking has been resolved.
  • Libram of Souls Redeemed, Libram of Divinity, Blessed Book of Nagrand, and Libram of Light have all been fixed.
  • Death Wish is now correctly a positive effect and can be canceled.
  • The recent 'casting while rooted' issues has been resolved.
  • The recent problem with Blackout proccing on its caster should now be fixed. (needs proper testing)

  • Hunter trap radius' are now their correct size.
  • Blackout will no longer proc on periodic damage, only initial cast.
  • Fix previous issue with the fix for librams not being implemented by the server correctly.
  • The recent problem with Nature's Grasp is now fixed.

September 2nd, 2012:
  • A POSSIBLE fix for the map party icon problem.
  • The Lightning Capacitor has been fixed.
  • Fixed client crash for players teleporting out of BGs. Not sure if this ever happened though.
  • Gold pricing has been removed from all items in the game to prevent need for gold anymore.
  • Hyjal no longer awards honor points or honorable kills.
  • Liron now resets all powers, not just health.

October 2nd, 2012:
  • Warlock/Mage pets have received a few updates to their hp/mana/armor and stat correction to make them less likely to die so easily.
  • Map-updates should now be officially fixed this time. Please notify us about this!
  • Darkgroom's chat filtering system has been reimplemented to prevent excess spamming across channels, raids, battlegrounds, etc.
  • Preparations for the Hallow's End holiday event have been implemented. Event is starting Oct. 6th!
  • All broom-mounts have been removed from players for the upcoming holiday event and also due to a bug of 3.5k brooms being sent out to players via mail? O_o.
  • Headless Horseman's mount should no longer be possible to mount in combat.

October 8th, 2012:
  • Apparently in our Christmas DB move from 2011 the tabard vendor in the mall was replaced by the free donor tabard vendor. No one ever notified me of this. This caused players for 10 months to have free access to a lot of tabards in the game. Therefore, the majority of the "free ones" have been wiped and the proper pricing restored. Donors have access to them freely again.
  • Battleground tabards (excluding AV) now have a 'Honored' reputation requirement.
  • It is no longer possible to attack players in Scarlet Monastery during the Hallow's End event.
  • Scarlet Citadel has been fully restored in the database and is now needed scripting & testing and we're ready to reopen it!
