Latency problems

Post by boianst »

First of all - hello to everyone.

The point on this post is to ask and hopefully solve my latency problems.

I've been playing for ~1 week on this server, I play on retail too. But I'm expiriencing huge lags when I'm in game(that includes freezes, spikes, which continue longer than 15 secs, wiping the whole arena match), the only playable time is around 8:00 - 13:00 the morning, when obviously there are not more than 20-30 people online. As far as I know from the other posts:

"Also if you do not live in the US and lag, that is YOUR OWN FAULT!"
-Henhouse, GM Administrator.

And I'm here to ask how come it's my internet or my fault, since when I log on retail I have not more than 30 ms, everything's working fine, and when I log here I have 700ms+.

As you know playing PvP with 5 sec delay is:
1) not fun
2) you can't even play
Who talks about playing at high rating, PvE-ing, making a tank rotation and such things.

What can I do? I restarded my PC, router, connected to internet stuff, just after 13:00 until ~23:00, it's horrible to play, I have delay around 5 sec. And yes, you guessed it, it's not just me, loads of people are whining about the lag, and it's not just me that I'm lagging.

Any suggestions what can I do to stop that horrible latency almost day and night?
And yes,I'm aware of that the server is in the US, but still this lag is horrible. I bet I'm not the only one which doesn't live in the US also.

Fault, as in, not necessarily blaming you, but the fact that you're in Europe.

Same reason why Blizzard has Europe, and North America servers. The time it takes for a signal which is already sending a lot, has to go overseas to a connection, can take a second or two.

Therefore, people in the US or North America, do not experience as much lag as players in Europe and Asia. When playing retail, assuming your Europe from the context of your post, you would play on WoW's Europe servers which are close to you.
