I actually like this idea; remind me of Vanilla's PVP system. You only retain your rank so long as you earn the required honor and HKs a week for that rank, and in order to rank up you need to reach another cap.Hardlight wrote:My idea: Have players get taxed for Maintaining ranks after Champion. Further more follow this up with gear prices moving up --- but as you increase in rank you gain more honour from the daily quests (much like in areana and the prebc honour system). This motivates players to increasing in rank to get more honour -- aswell reward players who play on our server more!
With this kinda of system, players are wanting to rank up, Warlords are wanting to win, and the farm will hopefully add the additional "lock in" factor for our server.
ON A SIDE NOTE:
Beyond that gear is not the main reason for losing - it's usually class composition with a mix of skill.
In other words, you have to win battlegrounds weekly/daily in order to maintain your status as a HWL/GM, instead of just farming kills.
