Didn't really help, I get frozen for 1-4 sec sometimes, and occasionally the game stucks and I have to re-open it.

I've found having the video setting at their minimal level seems to help alot. We don't play this game for sparkles anyway, right?!

Screenfreezes are caused by memory leaks, and processor "hanging." Processors have lag all the time, but, its usually not enough to notice with the naked eye. Check to see if your client is using abnormal a mounts of RAM compared to doing the same thing on another client, as in not, say, Feenix client downloaded from X other server.

WoW uses an interface based package aka the client, to reference data in each MPQ. When it takes your processor a second or more to process the next reference and execute the command, it becomes noticable. This, or the client all the sudden needing more RAM than it should, slows down processing rate. Normally memory leaks dont cause noticeable stalls, though.

TBC was made to run on two cores. The chances of of being a multithreading problem, and not a video ram issue, is slim. One thread on each route in the CPU core. Normally dual cores have 4 threads, and threads are definitely not attempted to be processed by more than one core at the same time. You dont seem to get how processors work. The only thing changing settings does, is reduce the amount of time it takes to process each pixel, and lowers RAM usage. It has zilch to do with multithreading.

The solution is to put together a fresh client, using the battle chest DVD, and the individual patches downloaded from joystiq.
The solution is to find another TBC client. If any of you have the battle chest CD, which contains Vanilla and TBC, and can find the individual patches, please put together a fresh client, and upload it here.
I usually play Wotlk, and have attempted to use every unique wotlk client offered. I notice some clients get the same sort of lag during combat, some dont. Its a client problem, not one your computer has. Youre a GM, and you blatantly mislead people with your misinformation. Please double check your beliefs against books ... The TBC client wasnt made with such malfunctional technology, it will attempt to access multithreading capabilities in a fatal manner. Noone would have played BC if it was.

It has nothing to do whit your CPU, its not client side.

Its related to latency peaks
Its a deep core but i wouldn't know how to fix it unless i did deep debugging.
I think its related to MapMgr
when player pop reaches x amount in map ID = to xxxx then server latency peaks for x amount of seconds
untill x amount of players dc or quit

Ok, that isnt it because ive run the client locally. Nice suggestion, though.

I had no issues in alterac valley when local, which is the only place i get client stalls when connected to the smolderforge 2.3.4 server.

Still makes no sense to me, it cant be client side (aka your cpu) because i use the same 2.3.4 client on different TBC servers and used it on retail back in TBC, and i only get freezes here on smolderforge.

Must be something whit the server.

PS
And if you run it localy you run an empy server whit only you online? If thats the case then ofcourse screenfreezes did not happen, because to make mapmgr bug you need alot of people in the same area.

Also if you noticed screenfreezes almost never happen when you are in a empty area, but start to happen alot when you have many players in the same place.
Point 2: Hen suggested reducing view distance to reduce screenfrezes, and it helps because it cuts out the farest players, again same point, you get less players = less freezes, it again confirms my theory.

What if some of my folders and files are missing?
That sucks. I cant try this method, cannot install addons, can print my screen but the screenshots does not save anywhere and pretty much everything is not there. Only the files neccesary to run the game.

Thanks,
