It's not the fact that it's the title system that is killing our server. It's the fact that players have achieved everything at which leads to our last resort of progression -- HK's.
If we could make a few things
A) A way that a very popular FPS's work is that weopons are rented. Popular game, combat arms, uses this system and is still up and running today with a great player base population. This is why i purpose that S3 is rented...via Battle marks. So aslong as you've been saving those marks - your in luck.
PROS:
This pushes players to complete objectives otherwise move down a season.
Players could simply renew there gear -- this causes players to stay active with our server... some what locking them in.
May promote donations as the gear remains permanent
*aswell we could offer players to buy s3 and remain permanent
CONS:
Players may feel annoyed that they are missing pieces of gear
Gear may dissappear at any moment -- once again making players mad
Will require a little bit of work with scripts and etc.
This benefits our hard core gamers -- as for our passive players ... Sorry :(
*Can we make it so the time only deminishes as the player is online?
*Can we decrease the Cap on marks so players are forced to renew gear continuously?
B) New currency system or way of measuring "Top leader boards"

Players will maintain gear and those prior to this patch will not be greatly effected
Adds a competitive component to our server, driven towards the success of BG"s -- NOT HKS.
CONS:
Programming will be required
BG abuse may come into play with players wintrading BG's
Possibly "unfair" contribution of win tabards
C) ...I'm a bit tired. i'll post some more later.

Yeah, lets make people lose their gear every now and then and re-enchant and gem it every single time. This sure will keep players.

Can be done with item duration but this sounds like a very, very problematic system. Never has been done in WoW before and NO ONE will want it or expect it. I can see 1000 tickets already from barely-English speaking players asking why their items are disappearing. Would be difficult to maintain.

HKs having any effect on your 'status' is just bullshit created by terrible players like fak and ezatt who try to compensate for lack of other things, and it's quite disgusting that it's got to the point that it has. It takes away so much from the game to see every battleground being a farm competition between these two idiots

Even though I was not present for the conversation about what to do with this problem, as far as I can see the main decisions here are:
1) Leave everything as it is and allow the community to suffer as a result of constant and unrelenting hk farming.
2) Disable titles thus rendering hks for the most part useless other than to flex e-peen at how much free time you have.
3) Cap hks making hk farmin past a certain point unnecessary as no one will know how many you would have.
4) Alternative options that may or may not help much and will most likely require more time investments and work to adopt into the server.
So as far as I can see it would be easiest to just pick the least harming option of the first 3 but it appears that at least a small group of people will have a problem with almost every one of them. If that's the case then we, who run and maintain the server, have to create some abstract method to fix the hk farming. Just know now, and this goes to the community as a whole, this problem will most likely not fix itself and in order to stop it entirely (or at least come close) we may have to do something drastic such as cap hks or disable titles. Not everyone may win in this case, and some people may suffer as a side-effect (specifically to you FAK as you are fond of both your titles and your hks so anything other than leaving things alone will probably harm you). We may not be able to avoid this but that doesn't mean we wont and are not trying. I'm sure Henry and others have thought a lot about this and more thought will continue but if we end up doing something that harms you we apologize and hope that those of you can understand and be mature about this.
We arn't singling you out and ruining your experience on purpose, we are just trying to think about the greater good. Any ideas from the community are welcome and expected. This is your server to play on and if you have a suggestion speak up! The worst we could do is savagely attack your opinion for not being helpful, you filthy ingrate. How dare you tell us how to run this server.

all in all im in for removing the title system.
except the Conqereur title to me that seems to be the only worth giving title.
and also it takes quite a while to get it .
im at like 35k hk and only revered with all groups.
that way players will still have something to aim for while passive players dont need to worry about getting farmed. (as it requires to win Wsg,Ab,AV to get honor, so farming would lose its use)
maybe not the best solution but that's all i got atm
its either that or remove teh 2 top players HK since they got like a "Bullshit magnet" when it comes to HK's and flame wars. i know it would suck for them but really,
when i look at the past and look at it now premades weren't taken so seriously
until these 2 players came into the game. no offense but the way this is heading, the server will either turn into an :
A- An Premade server where new comers barely will stand a chance and will almost be forced
to choose 1 of the main guilds here (Passion and Roflcopter)
B- Decrease of the population, In worst case scenario the end of SF i dont really see this happening
but the possibility is always there if people get GY farmed all the time then more people will
leave then join
so i'm in for my first option remove the titles but keep conquerer since this title is based on rep which means you actually got to win bg's.
