Stun immunity bug

Post by Jaemiri »

So I am not sure if someone seen it before or it just appeared now. I was playing my rogue and faced some other rogue :P I quickly realised that he is immune to all my stuns (like cheap shot/kidney shot). Firstly I thought he is keep drinking Free Action Potion/Living Free Action Potion but then i seen he has no buff icon like free action pot or any other. And he (or she lol) had that immunity for like 10 minutes while we have been pvping at hyjal zone. Also i think its impossible that he was really drinking them but the buff icon just was not displayed. Potions have cooldown on use so its impossible that, I wouldnt catch him with potion cooldown during time we played in one zone.

Im not sure if its connected with free action potion/living free action potion or other bugg he exploited.
Posting one screen I have made. Showing his nick bcs he admitted to doing some kind of abuse.

As you can see on this screen shot I have him on target, just used kidney shot and there is big yellow "Immune". You can see also that he has no free action icon buff or other buff/debuff that would grant him stun immunity. Situation like on this screenshot was taking place for at least 10 minutes.

Dont get me wrong I am not creating this thread to make some kind of delation. I am just afraid that if more people will find out that bug or whatever it is it will be exploited by many players - imagine doing pvp than...

I'd erase that player name but as he admitted to abusing something Idont see any reason for doing this.

Hope it will be fixed so it will be no longer possible to do such exploit.

any half bad rogue would know that if you open with cheap shot, vanish cheap shot, kidney shot, prep then cheap shot, that they'll be immune.

sigh

Don't just keep saying that without reading the article. You're not helping, which tends to be the purpose of replying in the first place.

I saw an example of this last night, after I attacked a warlock that had freshly spawned in WSG, only to see Immune flash my screen on all three attempts. (Keep in mind I have UIs that display and keep track of DR. So this is NOT a case of diminishing returns.) So far this week I saw Wave using a wand while he was a corpse, and now Warlocks permanently immune to stun that Imperium will again likely call Diminishing returns w/o reading anything.

Diminish- I'm kidding.

Perhaps he had Free Action Pots on? There may be a bug with the stuns themselves, and not the players being immune.
I have, myself, never seen this case though.

I'm not insulting you here Imperium, but seriously why give me the Comcast Tech Questions? I know the effect of FAP and how to recognize someone under the effect of it. This is not that case. This is Not Diminishing Return, nor is it a case of a consumable; unless they found a way to conceal the buff itself upon it's use. I don't know how else to spell it out. I'm not even the only one here who has seen this first hand.

I dunno man.
sometimes, like Henhouse once told me, the problem that bothers you the most usually has a simple solution that's been right in front of your face the entire time.

Has this bug occurred on certain classes? or just random players?
is it able to be duplicated? i wont ask if you can do it, because obviously that would mean we have a solution in our sights.
what about certain players themselves, has this bug occurred on them more than once on the same player?

perhaps a third party client is being used, but I seriously highly doubt that.
