Hey, we are going to have a LAN party at our school, and I was wondering what repack I should use to setup my server, and Smolderforge is just superior in any way i can think of when it comes to pvp stability. Therefore, I was wondering what repack was used to start Smolderforge?:)
Would really appreachiate and answer! My 200$ or so in donations must be enough for a little help? ;D
Edit: Now that I know that it was not based off of a repack, is there anyone with a little knowledge of how to start my own server with little work to be done? Just gonna use it for 3 days for a little tournament

Re: LAN Server
Hi Bloodborn,
Setting up a server for beginners is no easy task, it's very confusing and when it comes to firewalls and ports many people get lost and confused. With that said, I would recommend to use OregonCore, our predecessor to SmolderCore, however it's a open-source project where all the compiling, updating, running, etc. would need to be done on your part.
Now, I have been requested before to personally host tournaments powered and sponsored by Smolderforge. The last time this was done was for a LAN tournament called Hybrid-Gaming in Sweden. You can watch the video footage here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyT69YTY60Y (you'll see Smolderforge in the video ^_^)
The server, content, core, etc. was provided by us of course and the admin of the tournament was given GM access to broadcast arena matches over a projector by flying around and observing the matches, etc.
If this is something you're interested in, it's possible I may can be of assistance. Hybrid requested a Season 1 only arena server, so the only gear accessible was, well--season 1 arena gear. Nothing else, etc. Of course, in return you it needs to be very clear that Smolderforge is hosting it ;)
Player accounts will be created and assigned to attendees, etc, etc.

Re: LAN Server
If you could host a server like that for us, it would be so awesome!
I like the way things are in arena season 4 though, so I would prefer is to be patch 2.4.3 :)
Btw, I like your server so much, that I have donated several times on all of my ingame characters, and though some people whine about it, it is still worth it a 110%, and I will keep on donating every month I get my paycheck, even if I don't play much, because of the unique and balanced server Smolderforge really is!
(The only thing I am missing is my warglaives ;D But I do understand the reason why they are not available with all the equipment available, as every player equiping these would be too much of a pain for everyone, as well as the uniqueness of the items' disappearance, if every rogue and fury warrior had them)

Re: LAN Server
Alright just send an email I guess because I'll need to know stuff like date of event, estimated number of attendees, how many player accounts to create, and specifics on gear setup. Like full free s4/SWP, etc.
