Looking for Warrior PvP Advice

Post by Paperchaser »

Hi,
I've just created a warrior ( it's my first time playing one ) and I must admit I suck at it.
So If there's anyone that would be kind enough to tell me what to do in X circumstances or any usefull macro , and to correct my character gear is there's any huge mistakes ( end of the post -> link to my armory ).
Like should I even bother using Cleave ?
Mace or Sword spec ?
Should I use heroic strike on every global ?
How to kill a Resto Druid ? Couldnt get him any low.

Especially , I'd like an intervene macro ( Arena Partner 1 -> Intervene ) not sure if its possible to include /cast Def Stance in the macro itself ( if yes it would be awesome :D ) and I'm « already » using a Charge / Intercept macro ( I.e Charge when out of combat & Intercept when in combat ).

Thanks a lot,

Yes, you do use cleave sometimes, no you don't use heroic strike every global :D. Heroic strike replaces your normal attack wich means no rage. You use heroic strike when you are ragefeeded and going for a kill or you got some1 on you ragefeeding you and you don't lack any rage. It's only worth it cause its crit deals 20% more damage than normal attack crit due to a talent.
Against resto druids don't waste your cds and rage randomly, for example if he's in bear dont go like MASH THE KEYBOARD MS WHIRLWIND HEROIC STRIKE. If he's hoted apply MS to reduce the healing and sunder armor him, be careful with global cds so he doesn't cyclone/root you while you got pummel on global. So ye keep your rage and cds for when he gets out of bear and repeat.

Thanks !
And , because it have 2-3 different guide, and all of them different, I had no idea which one to follow so I just asked it. :D
But on more question again : Resto Druid vs Warrior.
Will type what I do and what he do :
Warrior --> Charge
Druid --> Bear form ( obviously Nature's Grasp at some point )
Warrior --> Must eat that Grasp, because the duration is longer than a 10sec root.
Druid --> Heal --> Cyclone
Warrior --> If in range : Pummel , if no Spell Reflect
Druid --> AH SAW THAT SPELL REFLECT ! ...Wait a lil : Cyclone again !
Warrior --> Root is over --> Intercept
Druid --> cast Root + Fake Cast + Recast root
Warrior --> Miss the pummel , go def stance, Shield bash !
And it keeps going over and over.
But my point is : To avoid CC, the druid is forcing to dance in between all my stance. Yet, that force me to stay at something like 25 rage, so I barely have enough rage to get him any low. Is there any tip you could give me ?

shield bash and pummel share the same cd :D so idk what ur talking about. And are you talking about duels or arena or wut... if its 2v2 or smth u've got a partner to assist you.. if ur all alone then idk I can't really think of tips that I should give you.. if its a resto druid then even if he ccs you he'll need some time to kill you so ye.. you can hardly just burst finish him but in the end you'll get the proper rng and win lol. i've told you all there is to it.. predict his movements like when he's goona go out of bear and start casting, and interrupt it with pummel/intercept/spell reflect only if its worth it(losing 100 rage for a cyclone that wont be any gamebreaking isnt worth it most of the times) or LoS incase you are in arena.You can reflect NG too (nature's grasp). Idk what else I forgot what I already mentioned. You could watch Zibbit's movie wich is this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MJMffasLQk it has 2v2 against different druid teams and a resto druid duel(hoodstar)

warrior's playstyle is simple, its all rage management and understanding of the surroundings and knowing the other classes and beign able to predict their moves and take the right decisions. Flashy focus intercepts and reflects etc are not always the best thing to do. But that's not something anyone can teach you... all you need is experiance.

i like how you put that like there no getting out, i guess spell reflecting then hitting him to reflect the grasp forcing him to get out of form to remove it and bashing him in caster form is out of the question. tips 4 free yo

being skilled with warriors comes with experience, especially with arena. just play a lot, watch videos and you should learn the class pretty well. warriors are not very hard to master but it does take some time. you really need to watch classes closely and remember what they do in certain situations so later on you will know what they will do before they do it, which is the key in warrior pvp.

hoodrych videos are a great start(he has 3 i believe during TBC), he's on the of the best warriors around.
