Hi,
(On TBC server)
The "kick" effect of deadly throw has to be instant. Here, it kicks the opponent cast while the throw reach the ennemy. On retail, it always kick cast while you push the button.
Look at: http://www.warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=78489 (Neilyo movie) at 04:15 (look at the gcd and the kick, it's pretty clear that deadly throw kicks it instantly)

the throw has to reach the opponent then it does the kick effect

It's pretty obvious that the closer you are the faster it applies.
Why would the silence effect start before the animation hits? :P

This was a WOTLK change, it's a bug here. At TLK deadly throws interrupt effect become useless.

All of Wrath it was terrible to rely upon, and often required you to throw it before a cast existed.I finally found a caster who was willing to let me throw a knife at his head. However, blizzard added a delay to deadly throw when you attempt to use it like that. if you're in melee range and run out of melee range, deadly throw wont work for an extra couple seconds.
so bringing back DT interrupt would act strictly as a long range interrupt. mage sheeping you from 15 yards away you can DT it.
This was a WOTLK change, it's a bug here. At TLK deadly throws interrupt effect become useless.

Are we on an RP server, or PvP? We don't mind how it's logic or not, it was like that on retail so it's a bug here, that's it.

From what I remember in TBC it had the very same delay, as the projectile impact initiated the interrupt.
On top of that there isn't a reason to report something like that without mentioning something else with it which actually is a critical issue.
But apparently it's fine when bugs benefit you...

I can't remember all the way back to TBC, but I'm guessing the silence effect works like silencing shot, which silences when the projectile hits you, not when you cast it.

So two fixes here:I'm glad you asked, we actually have some changes coming in 2.3 for Deadly Throw. The speed at which it travels is being increased significantly, so it will reach your target much faster, and the snare duration is being increased slightly. One second longer if I remember correctly. It will, however, no longer have the ability to trigger Ruthlessness.
With that Ruthlessness mention I'll elaborate that we'll be changing it so that Ruthlessness will only affect melee finishing moves as a whole.
