Core switch to OregonCore
Core switch to OregonCore
Now you may be thinking, what is OregonCore? Well, OregonCore is TrinityCore for 2.4.3, but continued after Trinity developers stopped working on and support Trinity for 2.4.3. Oregon has picked up from where they left off and continue to actively develop it.
After hours of testing and amazingly, successfully converting, Henhouse finally got the database converted from our MaNGOS to the new OregonCore and it ran good. Now, you may think "what does OregonCore have that MaNGOS doesn't?" This is a short list of stuff that we tested that was fixed in OC.
- Some AoE attacks (frostnova, blastwave, traps, holy nova, consecration) had incorrect range, and has been fixed.
- If intercept / charge gets resisted, its only the stun that is resisted, not the whole moving part.
- Feign death and vanish now properly stops spellcasts.
- Grounding totem dissapears on spell cast like its supposed to.
- Dispel and stun resistances working.
- Normal dispel can no longer dispel bubble/iceblock, they're only dispellable with mass dispel.
- You will drop flag when you bubble.
- If you get disconnected in battleground, you log back in in the battleground and will avoid deserter.
- Frostbite now works correctly.
- Arcane missiles animation has returned.
- Vampiric Touch mana return should be working correctly.
- Rogue talents "relentless strikes" and "Improved Sprint" now working.
- Envenom works.
- Wound poison (50%) has returned.
- Water elemental can use the spell 'freeze' while casting waterbolts.
- Improved scorch is back.
- Mutilate now does correct damage.
- Coldblooding mutilate now does a double-crit, instead of just mainhand crit.
- Poison procrate is back to normal.
- Hunter talent ENTRAPMENT.
- Cyclone now prevents the cycloned target from being healed, including HoTs.
- Vanishing blinds and the other way around is now possible.
- Prayer of Mending scales with bonus healing, and now bounces correctly.
- Talents that gives resistance to spell pushback now work.
Goodbye MaNGOS, welcome OregonCore.

Re: Core switch to OregonCore
... core switch apparently is not happening any time soon. Segmentation errors are causing the server to crash alot. (We didn't encounter any crashes on testing realm yesterday) Untill these can be fixed, we're back on mangos.

Re: Core switch to OregonCore
do you guys know what changes you did before those crashes?
Re: Core switch to OregonCore
Well they weren't happening when we ran tests but they started happening very frequently when a lot of people started to get online. Now, I believe we have a possible idea of what the problem is and we're just going to have to wait on some of the Oregon devs to do stuff.

Re: Core switch to OregonCore
Gotta say, this core looks great. Once it's online and functional it's gna change the PvP here entirely. with an updated core we'll prob see some new people and it will make the server alot more competitive arena wise imo.
