Add better items for donating

Post by ludvigpasse »

I know if it were to be done it would not be like tbc 2.43, and i think alot of ppl will disagree with this idea. However i think it would be good if some sort of "s5" were to be introduced for donating. Donating for s5 should cost approximatly 200usd, this is to make it special and rare, so not everyone is running around with it. It would also help the server alot with the added income. After donating for it you should be able to buy rings, amulets, weapons, armor etc, just like when you donate for s4. The stat difference between s4 and s5 should be similar of that of s2-3 and 3-4.

I think the idea might upset alot of ppl and will never be implemented but i think it would be fun to access really strong gear in the game for a premium cost, since right now its impossible to really out-gear other players since you can get best in slot in everything for like 5-10usd which makes the game, long term atleast, pretty boring.

It would have the same effect like swp gear did.

I think that the server is using very good tactics for that, removing bosses and charging for the items that they drop, it works better.

What would be the price for those items?

Hartun i think it should be like a separate donor mall but for s5. When you donate for it you get to buy all rings, amulets, armor etc, just like the current s4 mall.

And yes i am serious. I think the ability to distance yourself gear-wize is important to not get bored on the game long-term since otherwise you get no character developement. And right now the "roof" in where you have best in slot in every item can be done with about 10-27usd depending on your class and about half an hour. Raising this "gear-roof" by a significant amouth would be a good idea in my opinion since it would make the gameplay actually have a purpose, your improving your character by doing so.

Either you should be able to have access to all s5 items for 200usd or be able to buy each ring, armorpeice, weapon, offhand, wand and amulet for approcimatly 50-100 wep frags each. So even if you dont donate 200usd for it you still have that character development that i think is extremly important not to get bored after a while.

The "best in slot roof " needs to be siginically harder to reach then right now, and thats why i suggested this. I know i said it before, but i think that from an psychology point of view the enjoyment of playing the game gets increased by a lot if you actually get some sort of character progress when you keep playing, being able to buy everything best in slot for 10usd is fun at first but then all the progress gear-wize you can do just stops, and any honor/wep frags you grind are pointless and you cannot donate for futher improvements and that really removes the fun for alot of people i think in the long term.

You have just suggested to make BiS gear harder to obtain by making it cost more USD. Sounds very special to me.

The staff already said that they aren't interested in character development in pvp nor pve so what's the point. Move on from SF like many dedicated ppl and guilds *cough Tsunami * cough did, there are servers that are willing to cooperate with the population.

"To get bored" is normal on a tbc server, or in a wow private server in general. Because one day, your beloved server will merely become a routine for you and that day you'll realise it's over.

Btw, Tsunami here was an error, it's a good thing that they realised it. You can fix few things like Hen, devs in general and Grael did, but the PvE content will never look exactly like it originally was in retail.
Even about the gearing system which gives them a wrong idea of what it was in retail to obtain the basic stuff. (Not a lot of Tsunami players were on retail and I'm not sure a half of these ones reached lvl60/70)

Who asked for the PvE content to look exactly like in retail? No one asks for perfectly scripted encounters and bosses, not mentioning raids. There are just some things that just aren't doable that can be done and fixed if one wants to cos if they can work on lower populated servers i don't know the reason for them not working here.
