Do you use Bitcoin?
Do you use Bitcoin?
Hey everyone, as we continue to receive minor complaints about the lack of Visa pre-paid cards or Paysafe, etc. I was wondering if anyone had an interest in us integrating Bitcoin. Bitcoins, as I am sure many of you aware of is a decentrialized online currency that is not regulated by governments, banks, etc. and can be sent very quickly.
There are a lot of sites that allow you to transfer funds from a bank account as well (a feature Google Wallet is lacking for non-US people) such as coinbase.com. This would allow virtually anyone to add funds from their bank accounts and be able to donate from any country.
So I am curious of what people's thoughts are about Bitcoin -- do you / would you use it?

Hi Hen,
What will you buy with bitcoins ? Isn't it useless if you want to use it for server costs ?

Re: Do you use Bitcoin?
Bitcoins can immediately be sold back at market value and you receive the money for them. You can do this whenever. Sites like coinbase.com (a mainly US-based bitcoin wallet service) allows you to have them cashed in daily and the real currency deposited to you. So using Bitcoins is still a very valid way to raise money. I won't be stuck with them once I have them.Apuclevercow wrote:Hi Hen,

Thus, I don't see anything against the use of bitcoins for donations.Henhouse wrote:Bitcoins can immediately be sold back at market value and you receive the money for them. You can do this whenever. Re: Do you use Bitcoin?
Yeah, how about let's not make Smolderforge a LEGAL business entity registered under my name just so you can donate? Because that is what was REQUIRED to become a partner with Paysafe to use their service. Once I found out Visa giftcards can be accepted, and are usually bought at the same place as a Paysafe, there was no reason to pursue Paysafe anymore.Abwyz wrote: can't do =/= don't want to
