Battleground Observer
Battleground Observer
Hey everyone,
I'd like to propose to you an idea that came to my mind a few hours ago-Battleground Observing.
Now what exactly is battleground observing ? Well i assume most of you have played arenas and you know what happens when you die. You're still inside the arena and you can watch everything that happens but you cannot interfere with the players or anything that's going on. You're basically an observer who can watch everything and everyone. Now imagine the same thing inside a battleground. I know most of you love watching different player's game styles and techinques. So imagine there's an NPC right next to the current Battlemaster. That NPC will be the Battleground Observer. You click on him and he shows you all the current battlegrounds that are being played on the server. You choose which one you want to observe and you get teleported there. The idea is the same as when you die in an arena. But since battlegrounds are large you get a 100% increase of speed to travel around faster, like you're mounted and to make things more interesting in each base and zone there will be an NPC Observer who can either teleport you to your desired player or teleport you back to Tanaris. So for example you enter Warsong Gulch and you see in front of you the Observer NPC. You click on him and you see a list of the current players who are in this battleground. So let's say Ezatt is playing and you want to observe him. You click on '' I want to observer a current player'' and then you click on '' Ezatt '' and you instantly get teleported right next to him. Now wether or not you will observer him, that's your choice. You just get teleported right beside him. No one can see you, besides other observers. You can comment everything and everyone and watch their play style, watch them own and watch them fail. Someone can only find out that you're observing them if you whisper them. So if you simply talk on /say no one's going to see that besides the other observers in the battleground. So what will this do ? Well first of all a lot of people will clear Tanaris and just observe battlegrounds as they wait to join for one. A lot of people will learn new tactis and get new ideas on what to do in current situations and what not to do. And most of all,it's fun. It's being there, seeing everything like it is. No edits,no cutting clips. You'll finally see how good and bad everyone is and realise that this is just a game and we all have our moments of failing. So this is what i suggest. Hope you read it and hope you like it. So for Warsong Gulch i suggest 2 or 4 Observer NPCs placed in the graveyards and in the bases of the battleground. For Arathi Basin and Eye Of The Storm i suggest an NPC on every base, including the starting ones. That's pretty much it. The inside battleground NPCs should just allow you to either leave the battleground you're observing or teleport you to a current/desired player you wish to stalk/observe. That's all. Of course these NPCs will only be seen by the observers, that's out of the question.

Re: Battleground Observer
I'll sum it up:
Basicly arena viewer from Next-Gen and AT thats tweaked so you can watch bg's.
It sounds cool and definitly has potential.
But i'm worried that ppl will mostly use it to trash talk players.

Re: Battleground Observer
Didn't we have this countless times already?
The reply was about how much work coding this shit would be ... so, basically no, I guess.
More important, whats wrong with your Enter button?

I can tell you from experience, it's really not all that exciting... Although it does have its moments.
I believe it to be more fun to be part of the battle, rather than just watch it.
