Realmlist problems.

Post by Pythonmsh »

I've been with smolderforge WoW for quite some time and I've decided to come back and give it a try again. The client I downloaded was a 2.4.3 client from Feenix WoW. I'm having a problem which I don't know how to resolve though. I changed the realmlist to set realmlist connect.smolderforge.com but it still tries to connect to the old server (Feenix wow).

Another issue of mine is my old donations. I'm pretty certain that my old ingame account was deleted due to inactivity which is fine. I did donate $5 back in the day for season 4 and I would like to get my season 4 again without having to pay for it a second time. I still have the message in my inbox from a GM that gave me the code as confirmation.

Thanks for the help if you're able to do so. Hope to be in game soon enough, good luck.

Feenix modified their client so people can't leave. It's a desperate and pathetic attempt to keep players. This modification was only made to the Wow.exe program. You can downoad a fresh, unmodified one here: http://www.smolderforge.com/extras/Wow.exe

As for deleted accounts, we delete them because they are inactive for such a long period of time. We wouldn't delete them if we planned on performing recoveries later on due to records and claims of use with donations. I'm afraid we are not able to restore anything, or let anything be reclaimed. We've rolled in a donor preservation system about a month ago that allows players to opt-in if they're an old donor to never be deleted, or if they're a new donor, they're automatically opted in.

Thanks for the new exe, highly appreciate it. It really is a lame attempt to keep players.
Hi, I had to manually enter a code, I'm not sure why Paypal didn't process this correct, the email I received from your donation wasn't even one that said you purchased something, just said you sent a payment.

I apologize for the delay, if this stuff happens in the future please contact me directly about this, I will be glad to assist immediately with these issues.

Code: xm8128kxla
That was your old message to me back in 2010. So there's absolutely nothing you can do? I mean if not, that sucks... but life goes on lol.

No, even with donation records we've pretty much said no to everyone that lost anything because not all records were secure on our end (several times in 2011 the donor records went blank making it hard to provide what went where). Even if we did have all the records, we wiped the characters to wipe them, not to restore them later when someone asked.

This was before we had donor preservation, which we do now. Old donors must manually opt themselves in-game though.
