I'm wondering was his spec was, because it is combat but uses riptose, a spell that almost nobody's uses.

Maybe this could give you some inspiration if you haven't seen it before. :)
2.4.3 Specs

The guy in the video uses some "combat sword pvp" build made by himself probably. Combat sword is actually PvE only build. This guy has at least 11 talents in assasination tree (he has Relentless Strikes; i think it's 16+ in assassination for 5/5 Lethality), at least 36+ talents in combat (he has Combat Potency; i believe he has 41 talent in combat tree) and maybe some points in sub tree. His build is quite bad for pvp actually, he doesn't even have Improved Kick talent (it's impossible to tell if he had Improved Sprint or Endurance, since he never used Sprint to dispell root/slow; i assume he doesn't have those). Probably something like this http://db.excalibur-wow.com/?talent#f0ebovZGcEz0Vzx0rot (you can make much better "Combat Sword" for PvP, but he definatelly used something similar). Incredibly bad opponents make this look like he owns but it's actually very bad PvP movie, sorry.

@handsomedgc
If you want to PvP as a Combat Rogue in 2.4.3, then the best way to do so is with the HARP (Hemmorhage, Adrenaline Rush, Preparation) spec.
The spec was a kick ass back in the days and still remains a sufficient one in 2.4.3, it has a massive burst as well as a really decent ammount of ultility. Literally the only downsides are the lack of shadowstep and cheat death, however if you manage to adjust yourself to a slightly different rogue playstyle - I believe you will reap success.
With nothing further to do, the spec:

@Horrorfever
There were no HARP build in vanila :D HARP was incredibly strong build during second arena season, when SL/SL locks was OP as faq (blade flurry counters them very hard) and when Preparation also reseted CD for Adrenaline Rush. HARP with maces is still quite fun and good for sp-rog setup, it's just not as strong as it was and not as good (or universal) as ShS.

True, and no idea what I was thinking, edited the reply to avoid misleading the guy.Paniz wrote:@Horrorfever

Nonetheless, all agree that it should be the only PvP sufficient combat spec right now.
