So, i finally found and installed TBC 2.4.3 DE on my powerbook (Tiger 10.4.11)...
Everything installs beautiful and i got 2.4.3 ready (at least)

But now i get a crash "Assertation failed" error, when i try to login.

I set the realmlist correct and i can connect to smolderforge - but on loading my character-list, WoW just quits.

Damm, why is it sooo f##### hard to get this running???
I mean, i´ve searched an downloaded a few DAYS and still nothing works... can't believe this shit

I got a Windows tbc install, also... maybe i just need to copy over some .mpq files or something like that?!

... the same error on 10.5.8 Leopard...

before i give up completely on playing tbc on my powerbook(s), i´d like to ask, if someone is willing to upload a per-installed, already working WoW-TBC Client or give me a link to a WORKING MAC client.

Man, i am getting old about this stuff...

Leopard should work fine. Snow Leopard possibly even better. I have no idea why you're having these problems. So you're installing the client natively on each computer, right?

Honestly, Tiger is ancient so I can't imagine having a perfect working game there. As for Leopard, I would think it should work. I have no idea what your problem is.

Yes, I got some PowerPC macs here (G4 IBM) and did a native install.
I am pretty sure, TBC works well under 10.4.11

I did a clean install and got no errors while installing WoW vanilla (I did not patch it up, just got the plain install, like 1.0.4 or something like that).

Some time ago, I played on a classic server and my client worked. This time, I installed from the same DVD copy, so it should be running…

After that, I installed TBC and patched it up to 2.4.3 - no errors here, also.

A while ago, I got the same “tbc-crash on character-screen” on my other mac (running 10.5.8)
, TBC client was installed from another source.

So, this is my 3rd failed installation…. Tried different OS X and clients – nothing works right now.

Please Henhouse, you got a running mac osx tbc client, right?

Would you just .rar or .zip this client for me and put it on your server and pass me the link?

Pllleeeaaase…

Or Maybe just the Warcraft.app...

Ok, i installed everthing from scratch, got a new classic client, also.

After TBC and all patches were applied, it still crashes on character-list ...

So, i tried another tbc server - and guess what? I can login, see my character-list and could actually play...
<i tried also, to create a new acoount here and login... getting the same crash at char-list :(

Maybe it´s something on your end, that holds mac ppc german clients away from smolderforge.
Too picky "punkbuster" mods, maybe?!

My german windows tbc client runs without a probleme here...

But really, it would be very cool, not to be tied to the desktop all the time...

I copy over the cache and wtf folder from my windows install to my macs, but still no success...

Please Henhouse, could you investigate the problem?

Maybe it occures, because a kind of "pre-made" char is on the account "Please choose alliance" maybe the server checks for something (if there was already a new char made or something like this)???

All other servers (germany and english) worked so far... but still smolderforge won´t :(

I'm currently running a macbook air with OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4, updating to 10.8.5), and I've downloaded all files from the download page which were required for the mac installation. Now macs dont support powerpc's or .exe's so I can't open and thus can't install, the wow game, not even the classic client let alone tbc. Is there a possible fix for this or do I just suck it up and go play another game?

You'd either need to dual-boot Windows to play, or you'll have to play a different version. 2.4.3 simply will not work past Lion.

What do you mean with a different version?
