The problem is across the board. It's not limited to only Alliance, or only Horde. The problem exists for both factions pretty severely.Pevato wrote:Henhouse, even if you don't know what you're gonna do, just pust what you're thinking and maybe we can go off of that. Seems like as soon as an alliance posts about how unfair it is, Applez will be there posting shit on that player. I guess we can't bg, go to Hyjal, or even post in the forums.
I have not been ignoring this thread, we read every post and take information into consideration. The solution, however, is not one that is going to be easy or thought of quickly. I made this thread to see the community's insight and opinions on the problem. No mitigating solution that offers a promise to fix the problem and satisfy all players seems available at the moment.
I still feel a large majority of the problem rests in premades, or at least friends that happen to be queued with each other. I'm hoping that one day when we switch cores this problem will resolve(BG balancing). That, however, is months from now.
Banning graveyard farming is simply not a very do-able task. Sure the idea sounds alright in theory, but you do you have any idea how difficult it would be to enforce that? Sure, let's say it happens and people take screenshots. You're expecting me to suspend 10 players every BG that gets graveyard farmed? That would be counter-productive. Would result in removing too many players from the server, bombard our support queue with emails, tickets, forum posts, etc. inquiring further information on their ban, etc.
Hyjal was an area we saw illegal honor farming of graveyards by Passion. As a result I made it pratically impossible not to get close to the graveyards anymore. It was a silly solution but it was the only one that worked after Passion was relentless in violating fair gameplay rules and normal game mechanics. They even were as bold as to use multiboxing characters to help "kite" NPCs away from the graveyard so they could continuously farm the same players over and over. I wanted to suspend every one of them that was doing it. However that was about 15+ players. That kind of a suspension simply means I need to fix something, not solve it by throwing the ban hammer.
This is possible to be applied to battlegrounds. However... it's something I just do not want to do. How would players feel if they joined Smolderforge and they see we have MODIFIED Blizzard's battleground to not allow players to be killed near the graveyards? They would be appalled and leave. I wouldn't want to play at such a server either. Players would be cowering around the graveyards to "protect" them from enemy players and would use it to their advantage to get unknowingly players killed hilariously.
I just don't see any sensible solution at this time.
