When Wotlk comes Blizzard will lock the Realmlist so You better copy your Realmlist now with The Smolderforge Realmlist so you cna change the whole Folder when you want to play private server. So have 1 with Your US or EU Reamlist and one with Smolderfoge. If you dont do this befor the expansion is out you will be locked out from Private Server for along time. I know some people is working on an Crack that will unlock the Realmlist.

Blizzard doing this beacus they noticed how much players they lost for some weeks ago. Just beacus players had nothing to do In-game. I will speak with an friend about this he's working with Cracks and unlocking programms. He might be able to help with this issue.

And one more thing players that have updated thier WoW to patch 3.0.2 can take this Link and DownLoad The wow 3.0.1.

But ya there is no realmlist with the version 3.0.2 just to let you know.

Riski and I just noticed. Without that file.... Private Servers are not possible. This could be very, very bad news.

Its really simple just copy the folder and change the realm list and save it some where not hard at all.

Yeah the realmlist in 3.0 gets moved into the Data/enUS/ folder (or enGB depending on client).

Even if it does become readable only, you can remove that.

Even if its locked you can change it from readable only to something else that can be modifyed. I know that one time I tried to delete it and make another realmlist.wtf file so it can work either way, It shouldn't be that hard to mess with :P

Eh, the way I thought that they were going to lock it if they were, was that the whole data folder would become like a file, you know like a zipped file of some sort you know rar etc, but a new sort
Then the more I think about it the less I understand cuz the locked folder will probly not look like the previous one, cuz if it was, the realmlist wouldnt be locked, so copying wouldnt work if it was really locked Or maybe that the realmlist would be encrypted.
Both ways would be tricky to change the content within unless you got a way to reverse the encryption / extract it.
Imo, thats how they should lock it.. but what did you say? were they just making it readable only? Cuz thats no proper locking is it? :P Its your file so there must be some way an administrator of the computer can change the content if its not really hidden

You could still unlock it very easily. However, you last realmlist and server you were on save in Config.wtf and a lot of people are worried Blizzard is collecting the data. Not to mention it might be in the wowcache.wdb file.
