Update February 1st, 2015:
  • Lunar Festival! That├óΓé¼Γäós right, we├óΓé¼Γäóve scripted and repaired the Lunar Festival to launch on February 19th - March 3rd! Omen is scripted and players can summon the raid boss. Completion of the quest, Elune├óΓé¼Γäós Blessing will grant 10 Weapon Fragments for legendary transmog. Be sure to participate in this year├óΓé¼Γäós Lunar Festival!
  • Arena Season 23 has come to an end! View the finalists here. Season 24 has begun!
  • The Raven Lord has returned! We├óΓé¼Γäóve fixed the exploit that caused us to remove Reins of The Raven Lord from Anzu in Heroic Sekketh Halls. It has been readded! Good luck!
  • 3v3 solo queue can no longer have 2 of the same class in the same group (no class stacking).
  • Right-click ├óΓé¼┼ôReport Spam├óΓé¼┬¥ no longer goes into the void! Reporting a message, or mail as spam will be immediately reported to GMs for review. Please report any spammers, or server advertisers this way!
  • The scorescreen for arena now properly lists all members, even if they left before the match ended.
  • All spells cast during battleground and arena preparation phase are now instant.
  • Binary spell resistance system has been reworked slightly and should be more accurate now.
  • Fixed issue where a player could use Ice Block or Bubble while in Cyclone.
  • Trueshot Aura can no longer be dispelled.
  • Channeling spells such as draining spells now properly cancel their channel when a player moves out of range (damage stopped, but channel continued).
  • Player├óΓé¼Γäós pets now properly reset health, power and cooldowns upon being re-summoned.
  • Player├óΓé¼Γäós pets can now properly attack invisible units that only their owner can see.
  • Ruthlessness proc after finishing move has completed has been fixed.
  • Renataki's Charm of Beasts├óΓé¼Γäós active has been fixed.
  • The doors in Nagrand Arena will now despawn shortly after the game has begun.
  • Fixed a bug where sometimes enemies rating changes in 3v3 solo queue would not display on scorescreen.
  • Arcatraz Sentinels in Arcatraz have been scripted properly and start with 40% health.
  • Fixed an issue where some Well Fed buffs could stack.
  • Fixed a bug where player├óΓé¼Γäós who failed to accept the 3v3 solo queue invite were not being flagged as Deserter.

Update February 16, 2015:
  • Lunar Festival is now live! Come join for the fireworks, excitement and activities to do!
  • Draining spells such as Drain Life, now correctly will not cancel when you stop facing the target.
  • Devour Magic will no longer improperly autocast on friendly targets, additionally it cannot be cast when there is nothing to dispel.
  • Spells with a delay cast can now properly be Vanished. (eg: blind+vanish)
  • Glitches with enemy/target player cast bars disappearing has now been fixed.
  • Pets will now have their GCD reset when being resummoned.
  • Pet commands now properly have a global cooldown.
  • Pets now are correctly set as in-combat if their owners are, and vice versa.
  • Blessing of Sacrifice no longer splits damage if target is immune to damage. (eg: Paladin in bubble)
  • Troll racial, Berserking is now fixed.
  • Blood Elf racial, "Consume Magic" now no longer incorrectly can consume Shadowform.
  • Totem of the Thunderhead effect has been fixed.
  • Najentus in Black Temple has received script fixes targeting his spine targets.

Update March 16th, 2015:
  • Happy 7th anniversary, Smolderforge! That's right, Smolderforge turns 7 this 22nd of March. Join us from March 21-23rd in-game for celebrations!
  • Token of Mall Flying, now "Scroll of Mall Flying" will allow players to access their flying mount menu directly from where they're standing, and no longer have to run up to the NPC to access a list. You will need to carry this item in your bags to use, so if you previously had it in the bank, you'll need to move it out.
  • Combat timer now takes latency into affect. Additionally, fixes an issue with Gouge being able to be applied by exiting combat slightly too early.
  • Dire Maul is now available again to players after fixing a crashing bug related to an NPC script.
  • Pet pathing on the tomb in Ruins of Lordaeron should be a lot smoother.
  • Snowy Gryphon now has the flight speed of 280% and has been added to the mall flying mount list. We have plans to upgrade several 60% speed land mounts in the coming future... and possibly add new ones...
  • Players will now properly receive Weakened Soul debuff when spell stealing Power Word: Shield.
  • Minor corrections to rage decay have been applied.
  • Players now correctly receive more rage generation while under Beserker Rage effect.
  • Fixed a rare issue where Totem of Spirits would move.
  • Removed a change in last changelog where pet commands had a global cooldown.
  • Felhunters now properly will not auto cast Tainted Blood until 2 seconds after being summoned.
  • DOT damage now is calculated on apply, rather than on tick.
  • Quest, Ruthless Cunning now properly plants Warmaul Ogre Banner on dead ogres.
  • Quest, What Illidan Wants, Illidan Gets... has been scripted and fixed.
  • Quest, Wanted: Giselda the Crone can now be properly completed.
  • Quest, Quenching the Blade has proper gameobject support has can be properly completed.
  • Quest, Raene's Cleansing has loot fixed, and can be completed now.
  • Quest, Stopping the Spread now has properly spell scripting and can be completed.
  • Quest, The Scepter of Celebras has been scripted and fixed.
  • Quest, Waking Legends has been scripted and fixed.
  • Misc. code updates to improve server performance.

Update March 22nd, 2015:
  • Smolderforge has turned 7 years old!
  • We now have added multi-vendor technology. This allows players to speak with an NPC and choose between multiple different vendor windows. All the new NPCs mentioned in these updates are using this feature!
  • A new transmog vendor has been added! This vendor has replaced the "Popular Transmog Items" section of the donation page. This allows players to see the item in-game before donating. The tokens that may be donated for to redeem these items may be traded to other players. Along side these items we've added many new item sets for players to earn with badges.
  • The vanity vendor in the donor mall has been updated with numerous new items, as well as some neat transmog sets!
  • The Shattrath profession NPCs now will sell you recipes for that profession.
  • A new vanity vendor has been added! Combining a new selection of pets, tabards, and misc. items all into one.
  • We've despawned the old vanity vendors, and the mall flight master since you may now buy the Scroll of Mall Flying from the vanity vendor.
  • Fixed issues with numerous instances not registering certain boss identity variables. This will fix numerous bosses and other instance related bugs.
  • Greater Ward of Shielding now has a 10-minute cooldown.
  • The free Horde->Alliance faction transfer time period has ended. We will be assessing faction balance from the results.
  • Flametounge Weapon's proc has been fixed.

Update May 8th, 2015:
  • Season 24 came to a close on May 2nd, and season 25 began! We forgot to reset arena points during the arena closure so all players with points over 500 will be set down to 500. If you had less, or none, you remain the same.
  • We have implemented a new, custom-built anticheat to work alongside our Warden detection system. This will players using several different hacking methods (speed, fly, wall-walking, etc.). This feature is new and in testing. Once we've gathered enough results from the system, we will set it to automatically issue suspensions for detections. At the moment it will suspend users that trigger the system. It should not interrupt gameplay in any way.
  • Queued spells will now properly interrupt if player does not have enough power (eg: Warrior having 10 Rage and Heroic Strike queued. Player casts Battle Shout and does not have enough rage to cast Heroic Strike on next swing therefore the check fails and the spell is properly interrupted)
  • We've implemented new and better calculations to break auras on damaged received (roots, fear, etc.).
  • Fire & Earth Elementals, and Treants now have proper scripts assigned to them and cast their spells.
  • Charge path is limited to the spell's maximum range + 10 yards.
  • Charge and Intercept now have better pathing in Blade's Edge and will no longer charge up a pillar in some situations. Picture example.
  • Charge and Intercept now have proper slight spell delays.
  • Fixed an issue where Feral Charge shared diminishing returns with roots.
  • Fanaticism now increases crit chance of Judgement of Command / Blood.
  • You can no longer use battleground flags while under the effect of Rocket Boots Engaged.
  • Stoicism is now working for ALL spells.
  • Improved Righteous Fury now correctly decreasing damage while under the effect of Righteous Fury.
  • Removed an improper proc per minute on Holy Paladin's Tier 6 2-set piece bonus.
  • Players can no longer cast display on a target with 100% dispel resist auras. Player will receive a nothing to display error instead.
  • Deadly Throw interrupt is no longer instant.
  • Wrangling Rope can now properly be cast on players.
  • Vial of the Sunwell cannot be activated if player does not have any charges built up.
  • Fixed a crash where players could attempt to load into a non-existing battleground instance.
  • Fixed an issue where Unstable Affliction was receiving double spell damage bonuses.

Update June 15th, 2015:
  • Issues with bonus healing and bonus damage effects such as bleeds have been fixed by properly recalculating upon each tick instead of on apply. Source
  • Implemented a better way for spells to not break on damage taken. (Death Coil, Improved Hamstring, Improved Wing Clip, Chastise, etc.)
  • Issues that arose after a fix with the Blade's Edge Arena pillars should be fixed.
  • Issues with Fear Ward disappearing have been fixed. Numerous cases fixes specially are outlined in its bug report.
  • Intimidating Shout's diminishing returns group has been properly fixed to where it is no longer sharing DR with fears to now, correctly, stuns.
  • Fixed issue with Seal of Command/Righteousness not having its auto-attack proc go off when attack a player with a shield.
  • Fixed the Shaman talent Elemental Weapons not properly scaling.
  • Talents or Spells that increase DOT damage now correctly work. Eg: Flametongue Weapon.
  • Many spells/buffs/enchants, etc. that were improperly scaling spell power or % mods no longer do. List is large but few examples: (Eye for an Eye, Seal of Blood, SW: Death, Chain Lightning, Arcane Torrent, Deathfrost, Fiery Blaze, etc. etc.).
  • Priest's Gladiator Mooncloth gear set bonus now properly reduces Weakened Soul debuff on other targets instead of only the Priest himself when casting a spell such as PW: Shield.
  • Paladins are no longer immune to positive mana gains or buff gains while in bubble. Returning "immune" should only be for hostile targets.
  • Fixed issue with dispel now breaking Grounding Totem.
  • Players can no longer reflect Wand attacks.
  • Vindication can now proc on absorb.
  • Pet's movement speed is no longer synced with their owner's movement speed.
  • Fixed an issue with Water Elemental's range check.
  • Fixed issues with group/raid members going into stealth and having their animations bugged.
  • Wrangling Rope should now be able to cast on other players properly.
  • Diminishing Returns can no longer improperly apply to self.
  • Shadow Sight now properly will remove Stealth.

  • Lifebloom's final tick can no longer heal when target is isolated.
  • Chain Heal and Prayer of Mending no longer can jump to dead targets.
  • Vessel of the Naaru (active on Vial of the Sunwell) can now properly crit.
  • Vial of the Sunwell mechanics have been fixed as well as buff stack gaining from healing spells, not just holy.
  • Shapeshift now properly removes ALL slows.
  • Swiftmend now heals the correct amount equal to 4 ticks of Rejuvenation or 6 ticks from Regrowth. Also it will no longer ignore healing reducing effects.
  • Pet's speed now properly scales with owner's speed when out of combat.
  • Nature's Grace now properly reduces cyclone cast time.
  • Feral Charge root effect can no longer break on damage.
  • Fixed issue where Kidney Shot could apply DR to itself.
  • Fixed a rare issue where channelled spells could continue to be cast upon being frozen/trapped.
  • Swapping relics now properly triggers GCD again.
  • Fixed an exploit where players could sit down in mind control.
  • You can no longer cast dispel on a target if target only has non dispellable auras
  • Shadow Word: Death's backfire now properly deals the correct damage.
  • Timbal's Focusing Crystal can no longer proc off of a HOT.
  • Memento of Tyrande can now proc from HOT application.
  • Shattered Sun Pendant of Restoration can now proc from HOT application.
  • Nature's Guardian and Earth Shield can now trigger procs.
  • Shadowstep no longer improperly breaks stealth.
  • The arena spectator addon is now properly receiving player's correct mana numbers, fixing a bug causing it to go off when a player returned from a shapeshift form.

Update July 17th, 2015:
  • Issues with training points for Hunters have been fixed. Due to this, Hunter pets have been reset. We had to issue a wipe to correctly reset Hunters pets' and their trained spells. If you're a Hunter, see your trainer in the mall to train a new pet right away!
  • Fixed issue where channeled AoE spells would trigger combat immediately instead of on falling projectile hit.
  • Roots and Fears can no longer break by self-damage.
  • Fixed issue where some AoE spells could cast sightly outside the green indicator range.
  • Nature's Grasp can now proc while moving.
  • Shapeshifting can no longer improperly remove Blind.
  • Fixed issue with Abolish Poison removing too soon and not continuing to remove poisons.
  • Vial of the Sunwell healing is now increased and decreased by healing % modifiers such as Fel Armor, Mortal Strike, etc.
  • Shadowsong Panther now correctly follows the player instead of chasing after enemies.
  • Players now have access to the .distance command to check their distance between players and NPCs to help us better test bug fixes and report bugs. :)

Update 15 December, 2015:
  • Dual Talent Specialization feature has been released. This feature allows players to switch between a different talent build, along with different action bars for each spec. Players can enable this feature at their mall trainer. We had to conduct a rewrite of most of the system due to errors back during its initial testing phase in July. The system now adapts to players' talents, therefore a server-side talent reset was not needed this time. Additionally we programmed in more quality-of-life changes. This feature is free to all players.
  • Rapid Killing now properly is consumed upon an auto attack.
  • Liron no longer offers a class trainer option in the main menu, instead under "Tools" there is now an option to teleport to your mall trainer for dual spec purposes.

    Changes already implemented in past weeks/months:
  • The %-health system has been entirely removed.
  • Treants now properly are scripted to engage combat.
  • Fixed an issue with auto attacks going through some walls/small pillars.
  • Do Not Disturb (DND) now functions like in 3.x+ clients by entirely blocking the message being sent (therefore never received) by the player in DND mode. This is to offer some resources to players to avoid toxicity/harassment.

Update 19 December, 2015:
  • Hunter and Warlock pets now saves their auras when player is mounted. Additionally, they are removed properly when entering BG/Arena, resetting talents, when the pet/owner dies, when put in stables (Hunter), and when dismissed (Warlock).
  • Hunter and Warlock pets now properly move at the speed of their owners when they are on mounts.
  • Improved Mend Pet once again properly removes diseases, curses and magic debuffs on chance tick.
  • Flare now has its travel time back, and is no longer instant.
  • Improved Power Word: Shield now absorbs the correct amount.
  • Silent Resolve now correctly affects shadow spells.
  • Fixed an issue where Vindication was not being applied to a paladin's enemies.
  • Seal of Command now correctly benefits from Sanctity Aura.
  • Seal of Blood now correctly benefits from Sanctity Aura.
  • Seal of Blood now does correct backlash damage (as well as Judgment of Blood).
  • Fixed issue where Seal of Blood was procing more than once per hit.
  • Fixed issue where Improved Righteous Fury gave a double amount of damage reduction.
