7 year old game. Time has passed. TBC wasn't the most memorable expansion. Only people that play now are for nostalgic reasons mainly.Hartun wrote:Henhouse wrote: The reason the malls are across the world, in different maps, etc. is because back in 2011 we were pushing 400 players daily.
Idk why the population is 1/4 of what it was. :))))

Why are you still expecting PvE bugs/scripts to be fixed, Hartun? I imagine that's what you were referring to, but we struggle with 5 mans and karazhan. Even if by the grace of god, everything worked, do you honestly believe it would make a difference?Hartun wrote:

You'd have to scream at 12 year olds that ragequit over a single wipe; to get the fuck out of voidzone/fire/kill adds and watch them ignore you and wipe the raid. Arena and BGs is asking enough from this community, sometimes even that's a stretch.
Just enjoy what you can, Hartun. And accept this quality of play is as good as it is ever going to be.
PvPwise, just farm more HKs like the cool kids. HK > Win, right?! :D

You are totally right, i don't expect for PvE to be completely fixed just some small trivial things like the bosses to be actually targetable and some other shit that the STAFF is well aware of. On that Kara note, don't forget that ppl with full SWP gear were getting wipes and about 5mans, try Arca.
Yeah if everything worked that would make a difference, and yeah i know that most of the pve players are "12 year olds that rage quit over a single wipe" but there's a percent that is actually quite good at pve and had success in the big raids [ BT(lol), TK, SSC, SC ( if you can say it's big)] the thing that discourages them is when you wipe at Al'ar and he becomes untargetable etc..
I know it's kinda stupid that " i " ask about PvE fixes when the STAFF can't even keep up with PvP fixes. *cough 2 months for a new changelog yo * cough. But yeah i feel Henry, low population=no 2 times per month changelogs cos it's not worth it.
Fuck the cool kids that farm hks bdw :D
Yeah? Why does Nostalrius ( 1.12 ) have 6k players online then? Time has passed just for SF i guess, is that the excuse ? cmonHenhouse wrote: 7 year old game. Time has passed. TBC wasn't the most memorable expansion. Only people that play now are for nostalgic reasons mainly.

Re: Additional profession zone
There were already way more vanilla players than BC players. Anyway most of them want blizzlike experience, not an instant 60-70.
NB is providing a blizzlike experience, with a strong emul and server, and without purchasable things. It helps for sure.
And it's exactly like CC, they had a lot of advertising. At the contrary people know how SF is, not that it's bad, but it's very common compared to the other servers.
Once again the changelog is just a sum up of what has been done between this one and the last one, not an update.

Re: Additional profession zone
Sorry henhouse, I know the thread is a little old but it kills me to see you say that man. #1 Smolderforge is so far from what BC was actually like that it gives me very little to no nostalgia at all. I play Smolderforge because it has taken PvP and made that into a game by itself. I don't think people stopped playing because its 7 years old, people are still playing monopoly man :(.Henhouse wrote:7 year old game. Time has passed. TBC wasn't the most memorable expansion. I think the real reason people stopped playing, if it matters at all, is because stuff was made to easy to get on the server. You play for a couple of days and you have mainly everything there is to get except an infinite amount of hks. Nerds like to feel like they are something in WoW, that's kind of hard to do when everyone is handed the same shit. Just look at the kids who try to make themselves feel special or more "skilled" just by playing a "mutilate" rogue instead of sub, or being a destruction warlock instead of demo. Give me a break.
But it feels different on this server. It's just too easy that there begins to be nothing to work for except collect hks. But 40k honor for a freaking tabard? That's awesome. Those mounts should of all been 40k too except for mounts that belong to your race, things should be harder in that way I feel. just my opinion. I know this is a fun server but I firmly believe that a lot of people do not know what is good for them :) people think they like easy and everything handed to them but everyone likes to earn things with effort. Smolderforge has taken all the effort out of WoW that the game was built on that you are actually considered lame for trying here.
Maybe I am crazy but I feel making everything cost more honor will get people to play more. Transmog token should cost honor, the donation token at the transmog vendor $5 for a hat, the same as s4? Those could have been made 75k for each piece, or if you wanted to make it harder you could make it 3 tokens and 1 token cost 75k things like that. The sets that are given for free in org could be given for honor. But yea sorry for the rant, this is such a great server and I really don't feel people stopped playing for the reasons that you said. I think the server could have just as many players as it used to.
