New season tomorrow & a great opportunity for change!

Post by Lelol »

A new season will start tomorrow, it's the perfect time to implement the fixed bugs but more importantly implementing changes to the rating system. I'm hoping it has been worked on and is finished by this point? Would be pretty weird to implement it mid season.

This server needs something fresh! Do this properly and this server will actually become a GREAT server and the population will rise.

Can't wait!

Too bad the server can't even be stable, my guess is a new changelog when it reaches 2 months from the last one :D

Then you probably have no idea how updates are handled on Smolderforge.

Well, that didn't happen.

Would be nice to actually get a response, what is going on? Seems like there is no ambition to even attempt to grow the server.

Henhouse you were obviously online earlier when you finished the season and made a post about it. Pretty rude not to respond to this thread, assuming you've seen it. Could just respond with anything really, even if it would be something in the line of "we've changed our plans", "there will be no change in the upcoming months" or "we'll fix things up and change things mid season, don't worry". But no, nothing.

If you own a server and make money out of it, you have at least a moral responsibility to keep in touch with the community and the server itself. Not even presidents of countries are busy 24/7, it's all about prioritizing. I'm not saying you should skip out on studying to focus on the server, I just think that instead of meditating, watching Netflix, working out or whatever you do on your free time. You should skip out on some of that until you've actually done your part on the server.

Hey man. I've donated here, so now I'm in the position to dictate how you live your life.

Henhouse wrote:There are actually a lot of updates pending release, but I have been very unavailable since final exams week at university is approaching fast. This year I presented undergraduate research at our university's symposium that took place today, so I've been swamped! Sorry about that, give me a little bit of time and I'll start rolling things back out.
Patience.

Any plans for changing the arena season in its form will happen over the summer. It's simply not possible for for me to plan a whole new system or method of arena whilst in final exams. That's why we always have larger winter and summer updates each year. It's the main times I'm able to sit down and crank out a lot of shit to update SF on. This next school year luckily won't be as slam packed as this past one, so I'm looking forward to that. I haven't abandoned you all, but it is indeed hard to manage everything sometimes.

I have a lot of updates from Itslovelol I still have to roll out for the entire month of April. There'll be a big changelog within the week or so.
