About sockets

Hello guys,why i can't put on me only a type of socket?(ex:20 power-socket(red) i can't put only 1...)
When i can put more?or....never?or what i need to do for more sockets identical?

The epic jewelcrafting gems (24ap, 12crit, 12agility etc) can only be used once on your active gear set. This means you can only have one +24ap gem equipped at a time. You can however use different epic jewelcrafting gems at the same time, ie +24ap and 12agility.

Unique gems can only be used once since they are unique like these ones: 24 ap, 12 agi, 14 spell power etc.

P.S. Fix the +12 spririt gem =( +10 spirit gives more =s.
