Over the past (almost) 5 years of running Smolderforge the community as a whole (private servers in general) has taken a massive downward spiral. Getting a ticket where someone responds NICELY is rare these days. We are constantly flamed at, and the target of verbal abuse when it shouldn't be in existence at all.

Skelmor returned to his GM post after about 2 years of being on hiatus. The differences he noted were substantial in the community.

Mynce's examples are very, very accurate. People beg for events, and they flame and get mad that there is not free S4 raining down from the skies. No one thanks for major bugs getting fixed, if any when they finally do, but bitch about everything else, and when someone tries to bride me into violating policy and giving them free transfers, or free this, free that, I get flamed at for being a "shitty GM".

It's all very fun.
