A suggestion to make WOTLK realm more enjoyable

Post by Vareul »

One of the greatest patch sets in WoW history was Ulduar. 3.1.0-3.1.3. Nice raiding, great world PVP (no dungeon finder), and each class had its own niche. CC was still a good move in PVE in that patch. People with full ulduar 25 gear could own in pvp as much as those with s5. ALot of times, PVP was more fun because of the possibility of insane combos on players if you knew what you were doing.

If you watch this, you will see some of what i mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0LoQojUsSY
The video is Vespira 3. A full ulduar 25 geared rogue. keep in mind this is the PVP of a rogue who knew how to manage his energy, how to apply tactics, and how to survive. These results may not be seen by other players, should a 3.1.0 server come. They require a similar level of skill.

The suggestion is to make a server with Ulduar patch. Instant 80 with s4/ulduar 10 gear free, perhaps? Ulduar 25 gear/S5 Hateful obtained by honor/arena points and/or Emblem of Conquest (or whatever currency is chosen for PVE?)

Patch 335 is the end of Wotlk, but others, like me, may not think it is the best patch. S8 had some fun times, but, as usual, it was more of a "who can make their S8 toon more OP" than a shot at real endgame PVP.

IM willing to help with development in any way i can. ive made some decent server setups. I have experience with implementation of world based devlopment. ive done my own PVP zones, custom malls, replacement of original vendors with neutral ones with the custom vendor list, etc. I do not know how to code, but i can definitely develop the world at large.

The wrath population is thin enough as it is.

And if a server based on an earlier patch were to be released (which won't happen), it should be the s7 patch. It would make the server unique, and there's a lot of players out there who still thinks this is one of the most balanced patches there ever was.

Oh, and Death Knights.

ulduar patch rogue pvp required even less thinking than s8 envenom... your mutilates literally took 50% of someones health away

Wait, taking away 50% hp in 1 attack is special in wrath ?

Sub rogue with SWP gear. Come again.

To clarify. I do way more dmg with my bis geared Mage in TBC than I do on my bis geared Mage in Wrath. You have the same retarded pve gear, difference in wrath is that you also have stats that increases your survivability.

I never said its that different in TBC, specially if we talk about bis gear. Though with rogue and mage, you got the nastiest examples. (ignoring stuff like wf sword warrs and xarus absuerdin faggotory)

Btw, you still play here ?

It was balanced enough that if youre skilled, you dont get creamed. Back then, world PVP was still strong, because of the lack of dungeon finder. The entire point of suggesting the Ulduar patch is, you can 3-4 shot someone with pve gear vs pve gear, or have a decent competition with PVP gear vs PVP gear. The devs can put S7 gear into patch 3.1.3.

My personal reason for wanting 3.1.3 is you have a sort of BC Like concept. PVP with OP PVE gear setups, raiding, and PVP with PVP gear all being viable choices for gameplay. If anything, i would suggest the import of s7 gear, with a little stat buff for the PVE gear. Tiny one, like maybe 15% extra stats when you have a full set of tier gear, with the exception of making sure people have about 24k no buffs no gems, before talents, etc.

As i said, the play in that video was a decent rogue versus complete baddies. If you know how to play your class, set up some macroes that help you use spells, items, etc, more quickly and efficiently, you can dominate just as much as that rogue.
