What is the bug?

Certain spells don't have proper triggering mechanics.

Is it a spell or database issue? (database relates to any NPC, quest or item)

Spell issue.

How can you reproduce it?

Try to trigger effects from Crystal Spire of Karabor, Shattered Sun Pendant of Restoration or Fel Reaver's Piston by healing with Earth Shield or Nature's Guardian (shaman talent). You can also try to proc Memento of Tyrande's effects with Renew or Rejuvenation.

Please describe, in detail what is supposed to occur when this bug happens:

You are supposed to trigger effects from items like Crystal Spire of Karabor, Shattered Sun Pendant of Restoration or Fel Reaver's Piston with healing spells like Earth Shield or Nature's Guardian (Shaman talent). Memento of Tyrande's effect should proc from all healing spells, but in fact it only procs off direct healing spells like Regrowth (its direct healing effect) or Flash of Light.

Please describe, in detail what happens when it bugs up, and how it's malfunctioning:

Memento of Tyrande is supposed to proc from all healing spells but it procs off direct healing spells only. Earth Shield and Nature's Guardian are direct healing effects and according to wowhead comments they are supposed to trigger effects from Shattered Sun Pendant of Restoration, Crystal Spire of Karabor and Fel Reaver's Piston. Shattered Sun Pendant of Restoration is supposed to proc off HealingOverTime spells which actually do healing.

About earth shield ticks and the Piston :

However, for the Mace, it seems a little different about druids' HoTs, isn't it the same with the Piston (?) :

I have this mace on my shaman and yes, it will proc on all 3 heals from a chain heal.
It is very good for a shaman, because even if I'm at 0 mana I can still do alot of healing, just by spamming rank1 Healing wave (500healing/sec with 3/3 Healing way + 180-220healing/sec from proc). It's not something you need very often, but it helped me a few times in arena and on RoS (phase2).

It does not proc of: Healing stream totem, Earth shield and Nature's Guardian (Like Fel Reaver's piston do) »

The mace proc now works if your target receives the heal and he is lower then 50 %. It doesn't matter if he ends up with +50% hp after.

The mace is insane for PvP Shamans because when your hp goes below 50 % the proc will work on each Earthshield tick and Natures guardian proc.

Furthermore it also works on prayer of mending. I did not test it with lifebloom yet, but I am pretty sure it also works. »

« In response to Druid's Lifebloom, this spell does not count for a direct healing spell. It is your targets heal not yours. If you look at your combat log it will read 'Tanks Lifebloom heals Tank for X' NOT 'Healers Lifebloom heals Tank for X'. It is sort of a dumb system in my opinion, however it remains. »

Yes, that's true. The mace shouldn't proc off HoT spells, just direct ones. The bugged part is that it should proc off Earth Shield and Nature's Guardian but it doesn't.

I believe the whole "chance on spell cast" mechanic is bugged, the casting of the spells do not seem to have any affect, it seems as if it's the effect of the spell that is cast, that has the chance to PROC, for example, CoH has a 5x chance to proc these effects, Chain Heal 3x, Binding Heal 2x and Seed of Corruption & Holy Nova woah, they potentially have an infinitely increased PROC chance etc. etc. This could also potentially explain why some effects don't PROC from HoTs, however I don't know enough about the coding to verify that.

This has been mentioned a few times before. Currently the proc on periodic heals mechanic is currently unimplemented in the core, ie the code just is not there.

I did devise a work around a while ago so that these items and trinkets would proc of friendly (positive) casts. (I don't think we got round to implementing it however)

So currently no spells proc from hots. I can fix it so that they proc from friendly spells cast.

I will fix the multiple proc issue by adding an Internal cooldown on some of these effects, but I am pretty sure AOE spells should have a much higher chance to proc these spells (Fel Reavers Piston was great with chain heal back in the day).
