Sweeping Strikes
Sweeping Strikes calculates armor damage reduction from the main target and uses those values on the additional target.
Lets say a pve geared mage with about 10% dmg reduction from armor and a tank paladin with about 65% dmg reduction from armor stand next to each other and a warrior attacks the mage, pops Sweepins Strikes and starts hitting the mage. They both will take roughly the same damage.
This might apply to other AoE melee attacks, such as Cleave, Whirlwind and Bladeflurry. I'll check those too.
EDIT: I tested this out with Swipe and Bladeflurry. This bug covers those too so I think it's safe to assume it also affects all other melee AoE attacks.

Re: Sweeping Strikes
Thank you for the research I always noticed myself targeting lower armored characters when using sweeping strikes because of the lesser damage reduction in pve. I still never seem to use it in PvP.

Don't really get what you try to say. Did you described the current behaviour on SF or the intended?

Re: Sweeping Strikes
The current state. Isn't it obvious that damage reductions should be calculated separately for each target?

Re: Sweeping Strikes
Fixed.
Now takes armor from second target into account.

Code: Select all
WoW Icon 16x16 Patch 1.11.0 (20-Jun-2006): This spell has a number of fixes: When used in conjunction with Execute and the second victim is below 20% health, they will be hit with the full Execute amount. If the second victim is not below 20% health, they will be hit with normal melee swing damage; If the ability you are using does not deal damage, it will not use a charge of Sweeping Strikes; The extra attack it generates when used with Whirlwind now has the correct damage range; The additional attacks generated by this ability will now properly take into account the armor of the second target.
